Just to point out, the iPod touch is perfect for children under 12 who do not need a phone service, but like a portable device for app availability. I am confused why so many adults can not understand this. If I had to guess, Apple was thinking of children when marketing the iPod touch.

Perfect for those who LOVE music but don’t want to fill up all their storage on their phones. I needed something that allowed me to listen to MY music when WiFi wasn’t available and I have an expansive music collection. Also perfect for saving some podcasts for a flight if you don’t want to pay for in flight WiFi. Love the speed and features. Those who are bitter that it does more than the original iPods are never going to be happy with anything. Get the iPod, listen to music, be happy it’s not 1785.

I had an ipod 6th gen since it came out, iv used it as a stand alone device for music/emails/notes/games etc... I have used it everyday possibly more than my phone.
Why would apple revive this device? im not 100 percent sure but Im happy to own one again. The 6th gen battery was dying and could only last about 3 hours if i listened to music On top of that just recently it started to have a phantom touch/glitch to the screen. At that point i needed a new ipod. Some people ask, why not just add music to your phone? (oneplus 6t) thats because phones are heavy especially when you're doing activities like exercising.
I admit its not for everyone, most people would just carry one device for all purpose, considering that phones are now having more battery life than they used to.
Ipods now a days is a somewhat out of date but as most know apple is expensive and for those who want to see if they like IOS devices try an ipod as everything besides cellular, of course you can just download a phone number app to make calls to people using WIFI. Kids can also benefit from this as well since you dont want them having an ipad or a phone that can cost $500 plus.
Lastly, if you are only using it for music and some apps id recommend just getting the 32gb memory otherwise its not worth paying more than $200 for one.
Overall great product.

I am not a iPhone person. Never liked them. I have had every iPod just about except for the mini touch screen model because seriously that was a dumb idea. But I wanted to upgrade to newer model and I am happy for the new iPod. I want music. I don't want to hear evey incoming call, text, email etc interrupting my songs. I don't like that they added all the apps either. Should only have the 4 apps that matter to the functionality of the device. Plus all those apps do is take up space. I uninstalled what I can just to have more space.

What is the point of making the iPod CPU a hundred times faster if you make the app that runs it ten time stupider and completely worthless?
Am I the only person who uses an iPod for books and for classical music? Not only is it not possible to sort by author or composer (even if you have painstakingly typed in this in available slots, like genre) but the Music app inserts stuff (bogus song titles) that isn't even in the iTunes song info. What is the point of spending hundreds of hours correcting and organizing song info, if the stupid app ignores it, makes it inaccessible, substitutes something completely different?
Come on, Apple, fix the app. Not all of us are 12 years old.
Also, the iPod seems to send thumps or clicks to the bluetooth when the app starts, or when you select something. I suppose this could be my bluetooth receiver, but if it isn't, I assume it will be fixed.
But the app is terrible. It has removed features that the iPod Classic had, and which I came to depend on. These are app features, There is no excuse.
UPDATE: I have things working.
Genre and Composer are available. Apple calls option or settings “Edit”. I’ve been creating databases for years, and edid is something you do with data you have entered, not selecting options. Also, why not default to the settings of the classic iPod and let people delete categories they don’t want.
The other problem still makes me mad. Somewhere along the line iTunes added an option “work title” to replace song title, for situations where multi-movement compositions exist on the same album. Two symphonies, for example. Not a bad idea.
But on some of my audiobooks, iTunes fabricated a work title that isn’t anything I entered, and made it the default. The only solution I found was to edit the info for each “song”, which took a long time.

This is the 4th iPod touch I’ve purchased . Best.Gadget.Ever. I first got the pink one, then gold, then blue, now this time I went with red. I don’t normally like red, but was ready for something really different. I’ve had 3 iPads, one gold and 2 silver. I’m still hoping they’ll someday make a green one, as its my favorite color , but I’m very happy with this red one , as our school colors are red and black. I cannot think of anything I’d like improved on my Apple devices, unless they’d last about 10 years each. Other than that, perfect. Picture shown is with a clear back case on it and a screen protector. I’m a Happy Customer with a new 2019 Snazzy Red IPod. ♥️

I have two other iPods . First is only 2 mb. does not hold much :). I bought next one and it was 8 mb . It held most of my auditory files. This new one.. WOW !! it holds all 3000 songs and my books only used up maybe 1/2 . So very happy. No longer have to pick and chose. Price was wonderful too. Added plus. It arrived fast. Only negative thing for me is, this one can not be used with my other iPod stereos . Not the same charge port. This one has port like samsung phones and not the wide Ipod port. oh well I still have the other iPods to use for those stereos . All in all. I'm happy.
