Works great, as it comes with a free version for PS5. I bought this PS4 version for $32.50 in June 2024 while the PS5 version was $49.99. I saved $17.50 as this PS4 version comes with a free PS5 update. I previously owned a UK version of the game, but it turned out to be incompatible with the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree in my PSN account made in the U.S. The only way for me to play the DLC was to buy the North American version. This version worked great and I saved some buck! Saving was important to me as I already bought this game for PS5 before. By the way, the save files from the UK version of the game were successfully recognized by the U.S. version. Highly recommended! The cheapest way to get a new PS5 version of Elden Ring in 2024.

Bought this for day 1 release and I have played through it a couple times now, it's a great game with a ton of secrets to find!

The game is super difficult, and yet very rewarding.

Be warned that completing the npc questlines can be frustrating due to the fact many characters can impact other NPCs questlines and if you made the wrong choice, you could potentially failed many in one go and have to wait for the next game cycle to complete properly.

Great game, once you learn the new mechanics unique to the game. Though play style is similar to the prior fromsodt souls games. It does its own thing with specific game mechanics, so take heed!

Got this for PS4 since I'm still having trouble getting my hands on a PS5. Thankfully the game runs quite smooth without any hiccups or slowdown. About the only thing I noticed was that in a couple heavily enemy populated areas that the enemies would have less frames to their movement. This only happened in like two or three areas in the open world that I can recall and I played this game for 100+ hours and beat the secret bosses and everything.

Game itself is the best Souls like I've ever played. The open world actually feels really good to travel around in as there are all sorts of monsters and secrets to find. I feel that having an open world actually makes the game easier than previous Souls like games as you can wander off and level up more if you're having trouble against a certain boss.

The atmosphere and art direction are fantastic, the gameplay is REALLY good and feels even more smooth than previous Souls like games. There are TONS of weapons and spells, with most having very fun and useful special skills attached to them.

Anyone that likes a good challenge and a dark fantasy setting will probably love this game. I'd say it's definitely in my top three games of all time, and I've been playing games since Super Mario Bros. on the original NES.

 Ich will gar nicht viele Worte verlieren, aber: Elden Ring ist ein absolutes Meisterwerk. Ich habe mittlerweile mehr als 200 Stunden in dieses Spiel gesteckt und bin noch nicht einmal zur Hälfte durch. Die Welt ist einfach gigantisch groß und hinter jeder Ecke versteckt sich ein neues Geheimnis, das ergründet werden will. Die Grafik mag etwas veraltet daherkommen, aber wer sich daran reibt, der sollte solche Spiele lieber komplett ignorieren. Es ist alles Andere was dieses Spiel aus- und interessant macht. Ein grandioses Worldbuilding, atypische Open World Elemente und eine Geschichte, die den Spieler nicht wie durch ein für 3-6 Jährige gedachtes Bilderbuch bequemt. Die Story gestaltet sich eher wie ein Puzzle und manche Dinge bleiben auch einfach unerklärt. Mit diesen Stilmittel arbeitet durchaus auch manch anspruchsvoller/s Film/Buch. Ich würde Elden Ring auch am ehesten mit einem Buch vergleichen, wohingegen 95% der sonstigen Spiele eher Filmen gleichen. Auf Elden Ring muss man sich einlassen und vor allem muss man viel Zeit investieren. Wer sich für Dark Fantasy begeistern kann, sollte dem Spiel unbedingt eine Chance geben. Die Atmosphäre ist einfach atemberaubend. Zum Schwierigkeitsgrad muss man ehrlich sagen - Ja, er ist knackig. Sicherlich nichts für Menschen, die Fast Games lieben (als Referenz an Fast Food) und darauf aus sind, durch einfache Erfolge persönliche Bestätigung zu finden. Das ganze Thema des Todes der eigenen Spielfigur hat in den Souls Spielen aber sowieso eine eigene Bedeutung. In den meisten Spielen bedeutet der Tod der Figur persönliches, spielerisches Versagen. Man ist frustriert, da man der angenehmen Erfahrung eines schnellen Sieges beraubt wurde. Dies ist bei Elden Ring nicht der Fall und genau das macht dieses Spiel zu einem Problem für oben genannte Spieler, die schnelle Erfolge zur persönlichen Bestätigung, keine Herausforderung an der sie wachsen können, suchen. Der Tod ist in Elden Ring allgegenwärtig und so wie es bei diesem Spiel nicht funktioniert, blind auf die Gegner draufzukloppen und stupides Button-Mashing zu betreiben, so eröffnet sich eine ganz eigene anspruchsvolle Welt des Kampfes, die auf viele Spieler einen ganz besonderen Reiz ausübt. Elden Ring bzw die Kämpfe dieses und ähnlicher Spiele gleichen eher einem Tanz. Einer Choreographie, die gelernt werden will. Man muss seinen Gegner beobachten (im Kampf), man muss seine Schwächen erkennen und die spärlichen Lücken für eigene Erfolge (aus)nutzen. Und genau aus diesem Grund muss man unweigerlich auch ins Gras beißen. So oft eben, bis man es beherrscht, mit seinem Kontrahenten zu tanzen und diesen in seiner Perfektion zu übertreffen. Deshalb ist es absoluter Unfug zu behaupten, Elden Ring wäre kein Spiel für Anfänger. Im Gegenteil - Nie war es einfacher, den Einstieg in ein Souls Game zu packen. Das liegt nicht zuletzt an den extrem zahlreichen Möglichkeiten, die das Spiel bietet es zu bestreiten und seine Gegner am Ende in die Knie zu zwingen. Jeder Fan dieser Games von From Soft hat irgendwann einmal angefangen. Für jeden Spieler war es anfänglich eine Hassliebe. Für die Leute, bei denen die Liebe dem Hass obsiegt und die fähig sind sich auf diese Spiele einzulassen, bleibt am Ende nur grenzenlose Begeisterung. Daher rührt wohl auch der vollkommen berechtige Hype. Es braucht in Elden Ring keinen Easy Mode. Den hat das Spiel nämlich integriert. Das Stichwort heißt hier Magie und Zauberei. Grundsätzlich ist für jeden Typ Gamer ein Stil dabei. Das Spiel gibt den Spielern die Chance es so zu spielen, wie sie es wollen und nicht wie es das Spiel vorgibt und festlegt. Daher ist es somit eine Rarität und Besonderheit unter Videospielen und deshalb bedarf es keinem Easy Mode. Wer als Schwert- und Nahkämpfer versagt, sollte sich nicht vom Spiel abwenden. Die Entwickler haben sehr viele Möglichkeiten bereitgestellt, eine eigene Spielweise zu entwickeln, bei der man sich als Spieler dann plötzlich wohl fühlt. Zudem gibt es unendlich viele Möglichkeiten, seinen Charakter auf ein Level zu bringen, auf dem man seinen Gegnern in den jeweiligen Gebieten haushoch überlegen ist. Die Gegner skalieren nicht mit dem Level des Spielers und auch das war eine ganz bewusste Entscheidung der Entwickler - Stichwort: Easy Mode. (Zusätzlich findet ihr im Internet reichlich gut geschriebene und spoilerfreie Guides, die euch auch den eingebauten Easy Mode ausführlich und detailliert erklären. Und so verhält es sich mit diesen Tipps und dem ins Spiel integrierten Easy Mode auch an allen anderen Stellen in den Spielewelten der Firma Fromsoft. Hier wird euch das Essen nicht in den Mund geschoben, durchgekaut und ihr müsst es nur noch schlucken. Es gibt keine Questmarker, keine Erklärungen zur Story oder zum Gameplay. Elden Ring will erkundet und erforscht werden und gerade das macht dieses Spiel so außergewöhnlich und erfrischend. Das Tolle daran ist, dass ihr reichlich entlohnt werdet für euren Forscherdrang. Wer sich darauf einlassen kann, Freude daran empfindet Dinge selbst zu verstehen, für den wird dieses Spiel definitiv eine Erfüllung sein. Man kann auch sagen: Für Leute die lieber RTL oder alberne Komödien gucken statt ein gutes Buch zu lesen, Spaß an einem Sudoku zu haben oder die Schönheit der Natur zu bewundern, wird dieses Spiel eher eine Enttäuschung sein. Bei Elden Ring trennt sich die Spreu vom Weizen. Aber nicht(!) was gute oder schlechte Spieler angeht, denn gestorben sind wir doch alle hundertfach in diesen Spielen, sondern was anspruchsvolle und anspruchslose Gamer betrifft.

Dieses Spiel ist seine 60€ die ich dafür gelöhnt habe mehr als wert und bekommt von mir 5/5 Sterne. Das einzige PS4-Spiel was mich ähnlich begeistern konnte war Red Dead Redemption 2. Allerdings aus anderen Gründen. Die Spiele sind absolut verschieden.

Also Leute - Holt euch Elden Ring und gebt nicht gleich auf, wenn auf dem Bildschirm "You Died" steht. Ich habe es ja erklärt - Es ist weder eine Schande, noch sollte es euch ernsthaft frustrieren - Es sollte euch motivieren eure Technik zu verfeinern. Findet euren eigenen Stil, Elden Ring gibt euch wie kein zweites Spiel (auch kein Souls Spiel) die Möglichkeit dazu. Was aber wirklich wichtig zu sagen ist - Elden Ring ist nie unfair. Wenn ihr sterbt, dann seid ihr euch eures Fehlers stets bewusst und motiviert, es beim zweiten Anlauf besser zu machen. Lasst euch nicht davon abschrecken, dass die Medien und die halbe Szene damit hausieren, dass es ein sehr schweres Spiel für elitäre Gamer ist. Das ist es nicht! Es ist nur sehr anspruchsvoll und erfordert etwas Geduld beim Einstieg. Der Flow kommt schnell und dann saugt euch diese Welt ein und spuckt euch nach ein paar hundert Stunden vollkommener Begeisterung wieder aus.

Ich will gar nicht viele Worte verlieren, aber: Elden Ring ist ein absolutes Meisterwerk. Ich habe mittlerweile mehr als 200 Stunden in dieses Spiel gesteckt und bin noch nicht einmal zur Hälfte durch. Die Welt ist einfach gigantisch groß und hinter jeder Ecke versteckt sich ein neues Geheimnis, das ergründet werden will. Die Grafik mag etwas veraltet daherkommen, aber wer sich daran reibt, der sollte solche Spiele lieber komplett ignorieren. Es ist alles Andere was dieses Spiel aus- und interessant macht. Ein grandioses Worldbuilding, atypische Open World Elemente und eine Geschichte, die den Spieler nicht wie durch ein für 3-6 Jährige gedachtes Bilderbuch bequemt. Die Story gestaltet sich eher wie ein Puzzle und manche Dinge bleiben auch einfach unerklärt. Mit diesen Stilmittel arbeitet durchaus auch manch anspruchsvoller/s Film/Buch. Ich würde Elden Ring auch am ehesten mit einem Buch vergleichen, wohingegen 95% der sonstigen Spiele eher Filmen gleichen. Auf Elden Ring muss man sich einlassen und vor allem muss man viel Zeit investieren. Wer sich für Dark Fantasy begeistern kann, sollte dem Spiel unbedingt eine Chance geben. Die Atmosphäre ist einfach atemberaubend. Zum Schwierigkeitsgrad muss man ehrlich sagen - Ja, er ist knackig. Sicherlich nichts für Menschen, die Fast Games lieben (als Referenz an Fast Food) und darauf aus sind, durch einfache Erfolge persönliche Bestätigung zu finden. Das ganze Thema des Todes der eigenen Spielfigur hat in den Souls Spielen aber sowieso eine eigene Bedeutung. In den meisten Spielen bedeutet der Tod der Figur persönliches, spielerisches Versagen. Man ist frustriert, da man der angenehmen Erfahrung eines schnellen Sieges beraubt wurde. Dies ist bei Elden Ring nicht der Fall und genau das macht dieses Spiel zu einem Problem für oben genannte Spieler, die schnelle Erfolge zur persönlichen Bestätigung, keine Herausforderung an der sie wachsen können, suchen. Der Tod ist in Elden Ring allgegenwärtig und so wie es bei diesem Spiel nicht funktioniert, blind auf die Gegner draufzukloppen und stupides Button-Mashing zu betreiben, so eröffnet sich eine ganz eigene anspruchsvolle Welt des Kampfes, die auf viele Spieler einen ganz besonderen Reiz ausübt. Elden Ring bzw die Kämpfe dieses und ähnlicher Spiele gleichen eher einem Tanz. Einer Choreographie, die gelernt werden will. Man muss seinen Gegner beobachten (im Kampf), man muss seine Schwächen erkennen und die spärlichen Lücken für eigene Erfolge (aus)nutzen. Und genau aus diesem Grund muss man unweigerlich auch ins Gras beißen. So oft eben, bis man es beherrscht, mit seinem Kontrahenten zu tanzen und diesen in seiner Perfektion zu übertreffen. Deshalb ist es absoluter Unfug zu behaupten, Elden Ring wäre kein Spiel für Anfänger. Im Gegenteil - Nie war es einfacher, den Einstieg in ein Souls Game zu packen. Das liegt nicht zuletzt an den extrem zahlreichen Möglichkeiten, die das Spiel bietet es zu bestreiten und seine Gegner am Ende in die Knie zu zwingen. Jeder Fan dieser Games von From Soft hat irgendwann einmal angefangen. Für jeden Spieler war es anfänglich eine Hassliebe. Für die Leute, bei denen die Liebe dem Hass obsiegt und die fähig sind sich auf diese Spiele einzulassen, bleibt am Ende nur grenzenlose Begeisterung. Daher rührt wohl auch der vollkommen berechtige Hype. Es braucht in Elden Ring keinen Easy Mode. Den hat das Spiel nämlich integriert. Das Stichwort heißt hier Magie und Zauberei. Grundsätzlich ist für jeden Typ Gamer ein Stil dabei. Das Spiel gibt den Spielern die Chance es so zu spielen, wie sie es wollen und nicht wie es das Spiel vorgibt und festlegt. Daher ist es somit eine Rarität und Besonderheit unter Videospielen und deshalb bedarf es keinem Easy Mode. Wer als Schwert- und Nahkämpfer versagt, sollte sich nicht vom Spiel abwenden. Die Entwickler haben sehr viele Möglichkeiten bereitgestellt, eine eigene Spielweise zu entwickeln, bei der man sich als Spieler dann plötzlich wohl fühlt. Zudem gibt es unendlich viele Möglichkeiten, seinen Charakter auf ein Level zu bringen, auf dem man seinen Gegnern in den jeweiligen Gebieten haushoch überlegen ist. Die Gegner skalieren nicht mit dem Level des Spielers und auch das war eine ganz bewusste Entscheidung der Entwickler - Stichwort: Easy Mode. (Zusätzlich findet ihr im Internet reichlich gut geschriebene und spoilerfreie Guides, die euch auch den eingebauten Easy Mode ausführlich und detailliert erklären.
