Regularly does not play videos which makes the app useless. Whatever video I play, the app starts to play for 1-2 seconds and then buffers forever and never plays. But I don't have these problems when I play the same videos from a different device and platform (e.g. iOS) and stream to Chromecast. It's not an internet connection problem because all the devices I'm using are on the same network. Also don't like there is no ability to queue videos to play unlike the iOS app. Reason I got a Fire Stick is to use apps on the Fire Stick so it makes it pointless if I can't use the YouTube app for FireTV and have to use other devices.
Youtube Prime is an excellent option for anyone but especially for heavy users like myself. It removes all the ads (commercials) which not only allows me to enjoy the videos more, it saves me a considerable amount of time. Especially with the number of hour plus documentries I watch.
The one thing that is causing me an increasing dissatisfaction is the extensive amount of censorship. A few of the channels I follow have been demonized which means that although Youtube is benefiting from my Premium subscription, the content creators of the videos I watch are not. In my opinion this is a violation of the 1st Amendment of our Constitution. Speach you do not agree with is still protected speach.
I am so glad the Youtube is back. The app was was what made me want to buy a Fire Stick about 3 years ago, and they discontinued it a week after. Soon disappointed about that! I had to buy a Roku Stick also in order to watch YouTube on tv, which I'd rather do than on my computer. I really like the app and the picture quality is awesome! I just like watching music, comedy, and DIY videos so some of the features I don't use and cannot comment on. However, here is my experience so far:
The interface is a little different from a computer screen in that you can't see the comment section. Although you have to enter searches letter by letter using the remote, the most popular results appear quickly. So you don't waste time typing entire titles. There are ads prior to each video play, but no banners during video play. The next video in line plays even if you turn off autoplay. You can create a video library of saved videos and get updates from your subscriptions.
Have only been using You Tube TV streaming for about three weeks but so far I am very pleased. The price is about $9.00 cheaper per month than my last service, it has recording abilities, has a program guide and all the stations I wanted. Many sports channels, many news channels, all the major networks, And a BIG PLUS...NO contract. I highly recommend You Tube streaming service.
I suppose cable TV programming services compete on ease of use, not pricing nor variety. I love YouTube's very diverse programming from 1-minute "beauty tricks" to full length foreign language movies, and many full length episodes of TV programs from channels that my cable provider doesn't provide. The user-uploaded programming (How-to videos, lectures, TED Talks, political programming) are not easily accessible elsewhere. And a full subscription to YouTube TV ($65/month) is cheaper than many cable TV "bundles." But the user interface is clumsy.
I LOVE the way, if you walk out of the room, it goes to commercials that can seemingly run HOURS, if you can't get to the remote. I am GRATEFUL for the "Factoid" that Mama Tube realizes that the public is dumb as rocks, and uses Geniuses from dubious lineages (Snopes, etc.)to pre-digest worldly rumors into digestible LIES that are easier on the conscience! AND those factoids that go: * presumptive; based on the Certificates of Vote.
I am ESPECIALLY fond of the cool artwork they use (Pretending to be sad) when they delete a whole UT Subscription, all of the material, and information, because they CAN!
At LEAST if they stopped with the COMMERCIALS!!!!! They're killing our history, AND killing US with their "AD"s! GO Brighteon! GO Anywhere BUT...
The stream quality is good when used with my Amazon Fire Sticks, both the Gen 1 and the 4G; however, the user interface is not ideal for use with a remote control (vs a touch screen.) The picture quality is as good as the content creator’s individual production quality.
Overall, the issues with YouTube are the usual complaints about the algorithm trying to direct viewers in a direction they have no interest in going, the algorithm placing lower priority on some content (such as true crime, niche creativity, small content creators, etc.), and lastly the advertising. There is an excessive amount of advertising time per content time and the advertising algorithm isn’t “smart” enough. It takes your google data and viewing preferences and decides your gender and political affiliation, then pitches things that are completely useless, ridiculous, or offensive to you. That’s just YouTube though.

It's been great for some topics I am interested in, think it could be better with a view to the adverts, YouTube could make it so you have to watch adverts at the beginning and end of the topics you are interested in, instead of interrupting with ads through the video, I know you can have an ad free version but more money out of your pocket so I won't be paying

So easy to set up and use not bulky or cumbersome pulses are about the correct strength and as you need to you can increase the range of pulses you don’t have to watch the clock as it turns off automatically
Finally found the real YouTube app for my Amazon Fire Stick. Have previously been using what I thought was the real app but now I think it was a third party browser version. Brilliant app.
