Relax and recharge
I read this cute little book when I'd been queueing with heavy baggage for an hour and a half. Jamie Saloff's techniques didn't cure my aching back and shoulders, but I was better able to deal with them. Her self-healing method alleviated the pain. I also felt more positive. Interestingly, Saloff suggests asking yourself how you can avoid or improve your condition. The answer in my case - to travel with company rather than alone (and maybe avoid the Eurostar) isn't necessarily appealing, but her process did make me realise I had a choice. Like the book itself, the practical exercises are short and easy. I will definitely refer to them again if I feel under the weather.
