I already installed a Model X lock in January (I left a review) and have been so pleased with it that I thought I would try the Model S as it was discounted. I found the installation a little easier with the Model S because there was no step to set the direction of the handle. Both installations were as easy as installing any typical door handle.Since owning a Sifely I have come to really like the lock. Programming the locks is very simple using the app. I am also using a single gateway to get both my locks on line for remote access. The gateway has to be in bluetooth range of the locks, or you may need another gateway for the second lock. I use passage mode to keep the doors unlock while I am home during the day until a set time at night and the doors lock automatically when we go to bed. I like how the phone app also works with my watch. I get a message whenever the doors are unlocked and it tells me which key opened the lock. When I leave the house I can lock the door using my phone. It is possible with the gateway to unlock the door using my phone remotely or with my watch. Because my locks are online there is also a web portal offered free by Sifely on their web site that I think is pretty cool. You can manage all your locks from this one location. I can see this being very useful for business having multiple locks with multiple locations. I was able to transfer all my codes and keys (not fingerprints) from the Model S lock to the Model X on the app in one step.The biggest drawback I can find is that it uses 4 AA batteries. The app tells you how much energy is left in the batteries so I am not concerned it will die on me unexpectedly. They are supposed to last at least a year. I guess I will find out. I have been using fingerprint door handles for apx 4 years now. Front door, back door, garage entry door, metal security screen door, and even my bedroom door. And the most irritating thing when trying to find a capable product is does it do the hundred things I want it to? Including.... a decent app, track unlock and locks, fingerprint, nfc cards, numeral pass codes, time scheduled enable disable pass codes, and the super most important is remote unlock from my phone when I'm out and about. This door handle does everything, it even came with 5 regular keys for the hidden key hole. But wait, there is more... if you look at my purchase history, you will see I have purchased atleast 10-12 of different fingerprint door handles before. Because they all say wii link with alexa or this or that app that is compatible with all my other door handles. And then the item arrives and won't sync and I sit there for hours saying I can figure it out. Nope- frustrating. This one is the most easiest i have dealt with and all my other handles linked up to their app that is compatibile with all my SmartHome wifi products (which are an assortment of mismatched brands to be honest). You DO need to get the g3 hub though for the remote unlock from your phone, but I have always had one for my other locks so it's worth it. And the nfc is great, I even programed a nfc ring by just clicking program on the app and slidding over the number pad. I had gotten the ring off walmarts site for like $4. Now my hand unlocks it. So, I know this is long but I feel is super important when trying to find the right smart fingerprint remote door handle, a comment like this could have saved me time and aggravation. Oh 1 more more thing, it is super weird that it actually goes into your deadbolt hole and they want you to put your deadbolt on the bottom hole. It's because the size is too long to allow the deadbolt room in the top but not short enough to stay on bottom hole. Their more expensive handle would be perfect but it's like $50 more.
