Even though the book has 'scientific' in the title (and is especially helpful for scientific names) , I found it helpful with even everyday language. It helps to make sense of random words I hear or read that I don't fully get (like semaphore). It's also satisfying to see that there's at least some order to the English language and its not only just people mashing random letters together to make words (but sometimes it is). It would be great to see a larger variety of roots explored and maybe a pronunciation guide could help.
