Today's Amazon shopping is confusing, and many products do not perform as well as the seller's pictures show, many are just gimmicks, and even a large part of the products are not on the right board (using cheap internal materials instead of the pictures-shows materials).
For the CLIPTHAT headphone adapter, I was skeptical at first since it has really fancy pictures. So I decided to take this product apart and have a look.
The results are impressive.
Clearly this is just little more money compared to $9 dongles from likes of Apple and Google, but still I don't think any dongle has come close to this level of performance.
The real eye opener though is the spectrum showing distortion products below -120 dB! In other words, none of them are audible. As it is, it would set the SINAD to 120 dB as well but due to noise floor being higher, it gets limited to 101 dB. As that number though, this is by far the best dongle I have tested.
The CLIPTHAT makes a very good first impression as dongles go:
It is far more robust than the flimsy phone dongles. It is a metal tube and feels nice in the hand.

Finally, I tested with my Hifiman HE-400i. This was a delight with enough volume where I reduced levels by 3 to 4 dB for comfortable listening. Excellent fidelity was had with again, zero hint of distortion.
Highly recommend for spending just such small-extra bucks to entrance the HiFi world.
Note: It has to be destroyed by tools and it cannot be used anymore after teardown. I don't recommend doing it at home alone either.

The amplifier performs well in low end, it is powerful and is enough to frighten my ears. This device is perfect for listening to popular music. As the soundstage of B&O A8 is wide, you will feel the voice is far from you. In the middle end, the performance of female voices is better than male voices. In the high end, the highs are pretty crisp and clean. To my surprise, there is no distortion in the high end. For this price, it is value for money.
By the way, when the amplifier is in use, the heat would generate in it, but it is not serious.
Conclusion:

Very addictive!!! Once you enter the world of hifi with one foot, you will never be able to return to normal music life. All the music without hifi quality that SUCKS!
So, if you don't want to become a hifi-addictor like me, then please stay away from this ADAPTER! and choose those ordinary junk products with a life of less than 3 months.
do not buy! Regret when you buy it! This thing will make you addicted!
