Nice knife. Feels solid despite its light weight and slim dimensions. The sounds upon opening or closing are a solid thunk and click, not a metallic ting and nor plasticky snap. It’s not a fidget king, but surprisingly, it’s still fun to manipulate. The only thing hindering the fidget-fun is the Tri-Ad back lock which of course requires two hands. Opening is achievable via a thumb-roll, or even a thumb flick - if you’re vigorous and lucky. Two interesting differences in this knife: 1) the distance is a bit longer between the thumbstud and the pivot point, making it thumb-rollable with the ball of one’s thumb, not just the tip of your thumb. Seems to work very nicely, but that may just be a match for my hand size. The thumbstud is noticeably chunky for a smaller knife, but it still seems to look proportional, and it works very well. And 2) the blade’s visual finish is unique among any modern knives I’ve seen. The metal surface looks like a micro-tiny replica of the flaky finish of old-fashioned zinc-galvanized metal garbage can. But the blade is still completely smooth, not perceivably textured. Kinda neat and unique. The kiridashi blade shape is a little graceless in its straight lines and angularity, but it makes for a mighty useful all-around utility blade. It'll be easy to sharpen. Mechanics will appreciate its nylon pocket clip that won’t scratch when they lean into a car’s body paint. The nylon Griv-Ex scales are adequately grippy, not slippy. The whole thing fits the hand comfortably.
