I'm returning this product for the following reasons, in no particular order. I don't recommend you purchase these unless they fall under $100 or you are fine with the issues.
1. ANC toggles on and off with the push of a button for a purple indicator light. You get a second or two where the audio drops out while this kicks in. Or maybe off. There is no indication, on the headphones or app, that say ANC is on or off. the light toggles purple either way. You can guess given ambient noise but you'll never know! There is no known fix for this or support had no input.
2. ANC seems to kick in for calls with something they call sidetone. It pipes in ambient audio so you can hear yourself and not be too loud. Except, I just hear everything except the call. Call audio drops below ambient noise, even just working in the kitchen or tasks where a speakerphone might cut it. So these are useless to me on calls and I redirect to the headset I am trying to replace. It might as well not have call options at all. No fix or patch coming as far as support has said.
3. If you pair this to 2 devices, say your phone and a laptop, you have to be careful to disconnect when you go out of range of 1 device. If you do walk away or go on a walk, you will need to power off the headphones then power them back on and connect to the 1 device (out of range of the other device). Otherwise, you will have a nice British voice say 'Disconnected' every 5 seconds. No, the device does not reconnect when back in range, at least not reliably for me to notice it tried to. There is also no fix for this though it's entirely software...
With that in mind, are these a good fit? For about $100 I'd probably keep them but need a second headset of the same type for calls, making them effectively useless if the other set has noise cancelling and decent audio. There may not be better headphones at that price range either, feature wise. I appreciate USB C. The audio cable it comes with works well though may be short for large desk spaces. Battery life is great as I went maybe 4 days straight with extended use before charging, but not because they needed a charge. They are comfortable on my head, though some may find the top band a bit thin.
Pros:
App to adjust bass/treble - great for most audiophiles but I haven't used it (some have stated that the app isn't that good).
Aesthetically pleasing - minimal design looks good.
Sound Quality - very good, though I can't say much because I'm not an expert.
Comfortable - I can wear it for many hours at a time with ease (though others complained that it was too tight, but I have a small head).
Battery Life - 30 hours is a lot, and that means I can use them wireless the majority of the time.
Detachable Aux Cable / Headphone Jack - in case I run out of battery or in the airplane. The mic also works while plugged in, which is great.
Active Noise Cancelling - only works when on a call, otherwise I don't hear much while i'm listening to music. It's great for listening to your surroundings without having to remove your headphones.
Cons:
Mic Quality (currently in question) - I was told that my mic was very good, though I also sounded robotic/laggy when I was on a group call on Discord. I've only heard this from when I was using Discord, meaning it's most likely an in-app issue because it relies on WI-Fi to maintain the call.
Wired mode - the audio is quieter on the headphones and I can't adjust it to be louder.
Button placement - Weirdly placed buttons but I can adapt to the button positions.
Next, since these “reduce noise”, they don’t produce enough volume at all. If you’re already hard of hearing, these will only whisper in your ear.
Finally, the design in trash. Too many buttons to close together. Accidentally hitting the wrong button can be a common occurrence if these aren’t your only set of headphones. Nothing intuitive about these things at all other than holding the power button to “pair up.”
The best thing I can compare them too is the bass drum pedal from the first version of the video game Rock Band. If you know that pedal then you know these headphones.

These are my 3rd Sennheiser headphones in $100 - $150 range (each were different model) and the sound is very comparable for all of them - what I want to say, Sennheiser seems to be pretty good at delivering consistent audio quality. I made a sort of mistake once to buy a $50 Sennheiser in-ear headphones and I was very disappointed they didn't sound as good as my $120 over-ear ones. Later I realised I had unrealistic expectations.
Anyway, there are some good and bad things about these.
Good:
* long battery life, at least compared to their predecessor model 4.50
* audio cable - this was actually my requirement. However, the audio cable itself was a big disappointment, more in cons below
* support for AptX codec
* good audio quality for people desiring precise reproduction (these are definitely not bass heavy)
* Somewhat foldable - they don't fold really flat, but it's better than nothing
* The construction feels more solid than on my other similarly priced Sennheiser headphones. That said, I still have and use 10 year old Sennheiser headphones - they work perfectly fine, I just needed to order replacements for the ear cushions, as they disintegrate after several years
* Short audio delay when connecting via BT, allowing you to watch movies without being distracted by the delay between picture and sound too much. If you really notice that comparatively short delay, you can still connect to your player using wired connection, because hey, you have the option to do that, unlike some other models or brands
* Controls - the buttons located on the headphones are each different enough size, feel and position, so I didn't have any difficulty recognizing them and I don't think I ever pressed the wrong one.
Meh:
* The ear cups are not properly over-ear, they are a bit too small for that. They also touch your ear constantly. Initially I thought I won't be able to tolerate this, but I got used to it in a week. Still, they are not as comfortable as my older wired properly over-ear HD 461. I can wear the HD 450BT for 2 or so hours, whereas I didn't have problem with 5 hours using HD 461.
* They squeeze my head quite strongly. I have bigger head, which makes things worse. Again, there's much more pressure than with my older HD 461, but on the other hand, I don't fear they'd fall down while walking.
* Noise cancellation. It actually is not really a noise cancellation, it's rather noise replacement. I may be doing injustice to the system, because I only use them indoors, when the only noise they cancel is hum of my workstation's fans. The problematic part is that the feature doesn't simply cancel the fan hum. It replaces the deeper hum with slightly higher-pitched white noise of lower volume. I honestly can't decide whether I prefer the noise cancellation being turned on or off.
* The noise cancellation feature may be quite finnicky - on my first pair of these headphones it created squeaking noises in left ear cup, completely defeating the purpose of the noise cancellation. However Amazon was quick to offer me refund or replacement (I went for replacement), so I don't hold it against the product. The second pair is free from any problems so far. After all, this is why we have warranty, right?
Bad:
* Microphone doesn't work if connecting through supplied audio cable. This sucks, as it degrades the headset function to a mere headphones and I was not aware of this behaviour when buyin. It is simply resolved with buying replacement audio cable from 3rd party though - I did buy mine on Amazon for $17 - it doesn't break the piggybank, but adds to the price of the headphones. If you connect only through Bluetooth, this won't bother you at all.
In the end, there are quite a few comparable BT headphones from Sennheiser, Audio Technica or AKG (these being one of few brands I trust enough to buy in this price range), with similar pros and cons - all of them are this weird hybrid of over-ear and on-ear construction. Sennheiser offers the audio cable connection, which is why I chose them over the others. I'm pretty happy with the purchase and I'd
I tolerate these issues however as they are decently comfortable, the noise cancellation is amazing, they sound AMAZING, and the battery lasts me 1-2 weeks if not longer as I use them pretty much only during my commutes to work 3 times a week.
The carrying case is a flimsy material that offers minimal protection and leaves something to be desired.
The price is amazing for what you get but if on-ear is a deal breaker for you, look somewhere else.
