So Cute !
I ordered this Echo Dot device simply because it hasthe face of a Panda on it... and I am a Panda Lover.I wanted a second Amazon Echo Dot device to putin the bedroom and I also bought an Amazon EchoGlow device to go with it. It's awesome that theymade one of these with the face of a Panda on it.I Love it !I have 2 Amazon Echo Dots now... both 4th Gen.This Panda one came with 1 Year of Kids+ FreeTime installed. Due to the fact that my Husbandand I do not have children... the Kids+ Free Timefeature is disabled. I was able to disable it throughmy Alexa App. on my tablet. This is a great little device to have. I highly recommendthese devices. I feel like I have someone with me at thehouse when I am home alone. It's great ! I hope, if youdecide to purchase one of these, that you enjoy it asmuch as I do ! Have a FABULOUS day !!UPDATE: SEPT. 09, 2021... I have only had this device forAbout 6 months. Lately, the past week, she doesn't wantto respond when I talk to her. When I bought this deviceI did not think that after only 6 months it would just stopresponding. I have had to unplug her and plug her back inand reboot her. So frustrating. I even called AmazonCustomer Service numerous times to try to see if theycould help me,, and they walked me through a factoryreset. The device worked for about a week after that andnow she quit working AGAIN. This device really is moretrouble than she was worth... and I paid close to $50for this device. I cut my rating down to 4 Stars because ofthis. I just don't know what to do with it anymore.

With the onslaught of bluetooth speakers coming from both Google, Amazon, and other big named companies which are all competing for the smart home conversion, this can be overwhelming to choose. Like, really, what's best for your ears, your family and company?
Alexa, that's who. But, I'm a biased fan boy. So remember that.
For my smart home I chose Amazon as my primary converter. Fire stick, blink security, Echo Hub, the echo show for face calls, Kindle, Tablet, Echo Buds and works with smart bulbs. There isn't much of anything that the Echo Development teams haven't thought of. This device was the first step in making my house a smart home, though, even though I didn't think about it at first.

Portable speakers (with wifi), calculator, someone to tell your dad jokes, or just make fart noises, this device has it with Alexa. With customization to wake words (Computer, Alexa, Echo, etc) and pairing of multiple dots to an Echo hub in a multiroom can provide for some amazing surround sound. Seriously.

Alexa is kind of like the middle man of making your home smart. She acts as the computer, and communicator to you and your home. I use my Echo Dot every day, playing music all the time. For individual listening, I would recommend Echo Buds for that private concert.
I would recommend volume level 3 or 4 for a medium sound. For a party, you may need an two Echo Dots and a Hub for a large room. 1 and 2 settings are perfect for a meditating experience, or just soft background noise depending on what your listening too.

Amazon's music library has literally 20,000,000 songs to choose from; and ad free with 3d audio for those interested in Amazon Unlimited and HD. That's essential to ANYONE who loves listening to music all day, every day. Not to mention, if you don't wanna use Amazon HD, or Amazon in general, you are still able to set up Spotify as you're primary library/archive of music. That way, you don't have to start all over by liking, disliking and setting up new playlists for your road trips or work out sessions.

5/5 for awesome sound
5/5 voice recognition
5/5 easy installation
5/5 smart home device.
4th generation Echo Dot really blasts the hell out of all previous models, including sound output, style and variance in both Child and Adult, with variety in colors.

Con:
Cable could use a different color other than black or white, because this would allow "what cable goes to what." Otherwise, this is a really small complaint comparing to what you're really getting.
This device will not pair with adult/regular 4th generation echo dots.

I'm an adult, and I bought this Tiger Echo Dot (sphere) for my own use. I think it is just SO cute. My primary need was to have an easy to use speakerphone on my desk so that when people called, or I had to call someone, I could keep working and typing while maintaining the phone conversation. Sure, I could have bought an actual speakerphone unit. But this is so so much better.

I've loaded in an unboxing video to show how it comes packaged, and how it starts up. It was incredibly easy to install and also quite easy to set up for 'adult use' without the children restrictions. I have it set to turn on the office lights, the living room lights, and so on. I can easily check the weather or add items to a to-do list. It plays music and I even enjoy the daily Jeopardy trivia game.

For me, the most important use is the speakerphone. I can call any phone out there and have long, crystal-clear conversations while I do my work. For someone to call me, they need to use the Alexa app to call in to my tiger. I'm fine with that. If someone really wants to chat for a while, they can message me so that I initiate the call to them.

I'll note that some people complain about the 'not perfect' audio quality. I'm not sure what someone expects from a tiny plastic sphere. I have Harman Kardon speakers on my desk. If I really want stellar classical music, I'll play through those. But if I just want something poppy in the background while I work? The tiger is absolutely perfect for that.

Ask with any questions - I'm quite pleased!

I have way too many of these devices in my house and cars. I get teased by my family for it. However, they’re useful and handy to have around. Our first Gen Alexa was glitching so I purchased a new one. But put the old one in a different room where it could still be used, but not as much by my boys for us to care if it was glitchy.
I love that my boys know to ask Alexa to read it a story. Though I don’t like that my son can purchase audible. And has several times. As well as a fart package. They also apparently had a meowing package and a barking package you pay extras for the sounds. A gimmick they love, but not a gimmick you should have to pay for ever!
I wish there were more name options because if you say echo any other echo in the house goes off. If you say Alexa it will mess with one in another room. Oh lord does that make me angry when they try to hear a song in one room and the wrong device, always the one I’m listening to my music on picks it up and plays their request thus ending the playlist I have. Ugh! And it’s not like you could go back. I have found where I can try and gain the playlist again through the app. But if you’re like fifty, sixty, or more songs in, do you want to really keep saying, Alexa, skip. It gets monotonous after five!
Our came with a defect or flaw with the speaker meshing that sucks it has it. But I keep it up high from my boys so it’s not like their messing with it.
I like the idea of the glow. I just wish it did more, and was brighter. It has a button to turn it on, but to turn it off you have to keep hitting the button cycling through all the colors to turn it off unless you voice command it. Which if you’re trying to be quiet or you’re sick and your throat hurts to talk or whatever, it’s an issue. I get why it’s set up the way it is. But I don’t use it directly with my Alexa 95% of the time. Namely because I forget you can. And why would I think to summon Alexa to turn on or off a little light?
It would be cooler if it did light effects, like stars, or a rainbow, or water movement. That’s what I had originally purchased it for. In hopes it WOULD do something like that because I think I thought it could. It cannot. If it can, someone please tell me how!
Overall, I’d say it’s up to you to decide if you want this. I do not necessarily like you have a shelf life with these technological things like Alexa, phones, and watches. I mean it used to be appliances got tossed out for newer cooler models, and cars have always been one. Even though they’re good far beyond a life expectancy if you can work with them. At least those we’d keep for a decade or so? It just seemed longer. Now with new models of these devices coming out yearly not only does it mean you loose support sooner. But what was cool about it becomes outdated too soon. Did you really get your money out of it if you feel the need to replace it right away. And that’s a feeling amazon gives you on their devices. I have in the car that went wonky. And instead of just helping, they gave me a discount to purchase a new one. It wasn’t even two years old. It was just past that one year mark. And so they wouldn’t do anything to replace or really help me because of that. The frustrating part was that the issue I was having was one I’d had before. And one that I’ve had even with the new one. And yet I couldn’t get any help for that. I don’t know. Right now all of our Alexa’s are cutting out on songs. They’ll stop playing and then a new song comes on. It’s very frustrating and annoying. But nothing more than feeling like I have no support because they’re first or second generation devices. And those are too old since purchasing. So be aware of that when you’re spending your money. It’s always a crushing blow when I find out I can’t get help for something because I’m not the type to just read and pick it up. I need to be working with someone to learn and do. And doing it alone I struggle way more to retain what I’m doing. So when I have no support on how to fix my problems, well that makes me hesitant to purchase later on the same things. I HATE apple for the same reason. In fact, I’ll go further to say that apple is the worst of this, and why if I could get off the iPhone, I would! I would leave all apple products behind. But the droid system doesn’t click with me as well. So I feel stuck. But I don’t buy often if I don’t have to because I know I am alone with apple. And I make damn sure to learn what I can when I can because of this! So if you’re like that, just that heads up.
But I do love the devices! I love how they’ve made things fun for my boys. The facts my oldest has learned by just asking it random questions! So amazing! I was never like that. But I never had technology at that level growing to be interested in it like that. So I get it. At Christmas time I changed the call name to “hey Santa” for my boys and they’d sit there asking him all kinds of questions. Sadly, they didn’t have a lot for him to engage back like a regular Alexa can. But the fact that they were communicating with him directly and not through me or having to go somewhere was the coolest thing! So it has a lot of benefits. I love on my own Alexa in our room playing brown noise to muffle out any sounds during the night and morning. So lots of benefits and flaws. But I always recommend the product ultimately because I love being able to listen to music so easily and now I have no more ads to listen to! My favorite part! I mean if you want more options like multiple devices playing at the same time, which my boys LOVE to do! You pay extra. More songs, extra. Multiple rooms just being able to play songs simultaneously, extra. And I think it’s like $15 or $20 when you have the multiple devices. So it sucks that it costs extra to gain the full benefits. And for the kids fun package, they just raised the price from like $3 a month extra to like $5 or maybe a little more a month. So that sucks too because you can begin to feel nickled and dimed. But I guess that’s so much these days. So why not go with simplicity and have Alexa all in one, music, device, and app? You can even do appliances and gadgets like the glow too. Now, so it’s set up to be all inclusive. And unlike the the apple one, or at least this used to be true, you can play Apple Music on an Alexa. But you can’t play amazon music on an apple speaker? So I like that I can do iHeart, podcasts from amazon or elsewhere. I can do pandora, something it’s always suggesting when she doesn’t know, but I don’t think Spotify because my daughter was always playing Alexa through her phone for Spotify. Which IS something you can do. Bluetooth your phone and play things that way. So lots of options!
