Changes the scent on perfumes
I recently purchased a bottle of ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE Cosmetic Grade to use as a solvent in my homemade perfumes, but I was extremely disappointed with the results. While it did serve its purpose as a solvent, it had a detrimental effect on the overall scent of my perfumes.Instead of enhancing the fragrance, ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE completely changed the scent, making it unrecognizable from what it initially smelled like. The original top notes, middle notes, and base notes were all altered, resulting in a bizarre and unpleasant odor. It was as if the perfume had been contaminated with an entirely different fragrance that clashed with the intended scent.Furthermore, the altered scent lingered for an extended period, making it difficult to appreciate the subtle nuances and complexities of the perfume. It was a complete disappointment, especially as I had put considerable effort into crafting the perfect fragrance blend.Overall, I cannot recommend using ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE Cosmetic Grade in perfumes. Its ability to alter the scent completely diminishes the quality of the product, and it fails to deliver the desired results.

The bottle is wrapped in plastic and inside it was covered with a layer of the liquid. Luckily since IPM is fast absorbing it wasn't gross and greasy to handle but it makes me concerned that the bottle wasn't sealed well or the workspace where they're bottled is messy.

The IPM itself is IPM, absorbs quickly and leaves a smooth, satiny feel. It's great for reducing the greasiness of body butters and other anhydrous products and I highly recommend getting it from somewhere if that's what you want to make.

Isopropyl myristate is used to help skin products penetrate the skin, rather than sit on the surface. I mixed this with some body oil to help it absorb better. It works as intended and I will use it again for that purpose. Good to make bath oils less greasy, too.
