I thought it was supposed to be a warm pumpkin orange jacket but it arrived in a tan color. No worries it's a neutral tan color. Wore this up north in 28° with a blustery 30 mph wind near the lake and it blocked the wind and lake spray. Really appreciated the attached hood as well. The only thing I wished for was deeper and slightly larger pockets for both the inside pockets, as well as on the sides of this jacket would be much better if they were slightly larger.
I intentionally ordered a size up to wear layers underneath, but it was unnecessary. Very warm jacket that fits true to size. And it is sewn well with straight and tight seams. Really nice zipper and placket with snaps. Just as nice as the overpriced so called 'name brands'.

TBH, I was searching for a warm, basic, hooded winter jacket that also was affordable for really long. I'm a student with occasional jobs so I couldn't afford a Columbia or North Face jacket, and where I live we don't have winter appropriate clothing beside those brands, and shops will charge around US$ 250 for jackets that aren't remotely warm!!!
So I studied carefully all reviews here and was convinced since people used it successfully on snow or really low temperature winters (which I don't have where I live). After a month and a half of non stop use in one of the coldest autumns and start of the winter (south hemisphere) I have ever lived I can confirm it's in fact very warm and comfy.
I'm 5'4, 140 lbs with really wide hips so I purchased the L size just in case, since I wanted to have room for extra sweaters and didn't wanted it to be tight on my hips. I believe even a size M would have fitted right but I wanted to be extra sure. I have a short torso so it's long to cover my glutes.
Both side pockets are big, fleeced and zipped. Has an extra inside pocket, bigger and also fleeced.
All zippers are great quality, principal one goes up to the chin and has a little fabric protection so it doesn't traps the skin.
The hood is fleeced, roomy and longer over the forehead.
The little gloves included on the sleeves are such a great addition, they're made from a microfiber non elastic fabric. The sleeves don't allow any cold air to enter.
Feels lightweight while on, but heavy when carried on the arms.

Ultra recommended!!!

The coat isn’t light and has some weight to it. If you’re in Alaska I don’t know if this works. It certainly does in Maine. Going to buy more colors and constantly look for price drops. I found the short version by Amazon for 15.00!!! Overstock price and I don’t care if it’s orange terracotta. Can walk outside with it for passing car visibility.

I’m a regular 3X but ordered up to a 4X to fit over winter clothing. I wore a thick hoodie this am and the jacket fit perfectly. Loose not tight at all.

Pockets are phenomenal. There is a pocket inside on the left w. Velcro closure. My iPhone fits whole. The outside pockets have a zipper closure which rocks. Pocket size is just right not shallow at all.

I ordered a second jacket after receiving the first one. I loved the first one. The second one came not in a plastic bag like the first one, a different box than the first one, and appeared to have been ripped out of the box and literally run over or dragged around by something. There were burn marks, stains, and a hole. I went in to edit my first review as it was obvious it was a SHIPPING issue and not a product issue. I received my replacement jacket today and it arrived undamaged and looked great. The return process was easy and I'm glad I didn't decide to just return it. I really do like the jacket. Lightweight, soft lining, not too thin, not too bulky. The fit is very accurate too. I'm a bit older and have a hard time finding things that fit well, are comfortable, and flattering. This jacket covers it all.

Police and local agencies did nothing and offered no help, even when the temperature went to -40 and lower. Local stores here sell out of any plus size winter coats before winter really starts (and don't get re-stocked), so I decided to take a chance on a coat from Amazon. I'm so glad I took a chance! My experience over many years is that winter coats are sized at least three sizes too small, and the arms are usually even smaller, so imagine my shock to find this 6x (biggest available) is huge on me! It's really a 6x. Not a 3x or 2x labelled 6x. I've already recommended this coat to a relative, who's a large but ordered xl because she wants to be able to wear bulkier clothing under her coat even though I've told her she won't need extra layers. This coat is really warm, even in -45 weather, biting wind blowing while I'm wearing a t-shirt underneath. I like the big hood, the relaxed fit sleeves (the sleeves pull down and cover part of your hands), the pockets are So soft inside and zip shut, the zippers work well, this coat washed well at a laundrymat (I'm staying at a hotel at the moment) in a front loader, and dried on low heat in about 20 minutes. It still had a few damp patches around stitching, but I hung it up to dry overnight and it was totally dry the next morning. This coat is so warm, I actually start to sweat a bit at times, and I'm not doing anything particularly strenuous (not shovelling snow or running). This coat makes me feel like I'm wrapped in a hug, and the first time I put it on and zipped it up, I burst into tears. It feels that light and soft and good. It's much better than the coat that was stolen, and I'm so grateful Amazon delivered my new coat right to my hotel room.
