Product Description

Experience high-quality sound — without headphones. That’s the magic of Bose Frames Tempo: high-performance sport sunglasses with a revolutionary Bose Open Ear Audio design that allows you to hear your music and your surroundings at the same time for a workout unlike any other. There are two specially designed Bose speakers embedded in the temples to produce sound that’s louder and deeper than other audio sunglasses. And whether they’re your running sunglasses or cycling shades, Open Ear Audio design (nothing in or on your ears) frees you from headphones so you can stay aware of your surroundings — traffic, pedestrians, whatever you’re up against. With a sweat- and weather-resistant design, a lightweight, aerodynamic nylon frame, and soft, silicone nose pads (three options included for the best fit), Bose sport sunglasses are designed for comfort and performance. And they’re not only sport sunglasses with polarized lenses, they’re also scratch- and shatter-resistant with a VLT of 12%, ideal for most sports. Plus, they’re interchangeable. Additional polarized lenses, like Road Orange (VLT 20%) and Trail Blue (VLT 28%), are available for other sports and lighting conditions. Bose sport sunglasses play up to eight hours at a time, include an advanced mic system for clearer calls and access to Siri and Google Assistant, and are prescription (Rx) ready. It’s the sound you expect from Bose with everything you need from sport Bluetooth sunglasses. Compatible with the Bose Music app for simple setup, access to future software updates, and ability to personalize your settings for your Bose sport sunglasses. OD852489.

I love these glasses
I've been wanting these all of my life, I just didn't know it. They solve the problem of being able to listen to music while exercising without giving up your situational awareness. I've used a bluetooth speaker on my bike, it disturbs those around you and is not easy to transfer from road to mountain bike. In fact, it's not secure on a mountain bike. I've recently been using airpod pros, but even in transparency mode, you do not hear everything around you well. These solve all those issues. I use them for walking/hiking, mountain biking, road biking, and rowing (on the water, not in the gym). They sound great. You need to have realistic expectations, they're not going to sound like a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort headphones, but they sound as good as you could expect for the form factor. Everyone I have let try them has been impressed. You do not have to turn them up super loud to be able to hear them clearly, which is what makes them great. Because they're not loud, you still hear what's going on around you and can even carry on a conversation with people. The bass is good at low and medium volumes. At high volumes the bass drops off, but I don't listen to them that loud. If you riding on the road, a passing truck will drown them out, but what do you expect? Secondly the controls are excellent. The single button for pause, answering the phone, skipping a track, and going back a track works well. Speaking of calls, the call quality is good on my end and the other end. The other control, the volume control, works great as well. Swiping your finger along the frame is easy and precise. So why did I give them only 4 stars? The main reason is the fit. They are too small for me. I am an average size person, 5' 10" tall, size 10-1/2 feet, all other body parts are average size (just ask my girlfriend). However these are too small in two ways. One, they are too tight on the temples. this causes several problems. One is that they are slightly uncomfortable, but they really don't bother me anymore. Secondly, because they are pressing more on my temples rather than where the arms wrap around the back of my head, the slick plastic part of the arms are gripping my head instead of the rubber coated part of the arms. This means they can slip forward with a lot movement or bouncing. This can be a problem when mountain biking. The other problem with the small size is that the speaker is farther away from my ear. Look at the picture of where the speaker is relative my ear vs. where the speaker is on the model in the Bose ad. The second reason I deducted a star is the difficulty in swapping the lenses out. I love that you can switch the lenses, it's just not very easy. BTW, if you're old like me and have trouble seeing your bike computer without readers, I recommend using a Hydrotac stick on bifocal lens. They come in a pair, but I just use one on the left lens and it works perfectly for seeing the bike computer and still seeing distant objects as well. Overall I am very happy with these and can't wait for them to make it in a larger size.

I got these at Christmas when they were ridiculously discounted. I wish I would have bought 2 pairs. I use them mostly for golfing for which they are incredibly suited. I can keep the volume low enough that it provides a nice background "soundtrack" for my round, while still being able to hear everyone around me. Perfect.

The sound quality is exactly what you would expect from Bose. I also have their best ear buds which of course sound better especially with the noise canceling, but I would never use them for golf or doing anything where being able to hear the world around you is important. But the sound of these Tempo's are very good in their own right. In fact, better than you might expect. I used them in my car yesterday on the way home from golf since I forgot to bring another pair of sunglasses, and I felt safe enough to drive with them on.

They are a little snug for my average size head, but they have stretched out already after about 10 uses they fit just snug enough. They look a little awkward since they are much bigger than regular sunglasses, especially at the temple. But they don't look so weird people will stare at you in wonderment.

The black lenses that come with them are fine, like wearing a similar pair of Oakley's. But I bought a pair of polarized mirrored tungsten bronze lens on Amazon for about half the price of the Bose replacement lens, and they work great and look better, IMO. Switching them out is easy once you figure how/where to pull them out and snap them in. If you are like me and can't stand a scratched lens, these are perfect since a new lens is relatively cheap. Just make sure you read the lens reviews first.

All in, they were a really, really good buy, especially at about 1/2 off. But even without the big discount they are well worth it. Especially if you are like me and don't like having buds in your ears for extended periods. These are similar to the Bose necklace Bluetooth speaker in sound quality (not as much base), but are much better for using with outdoor activities. I highly recommend.

Again, late night, can't sleep, what to do....search Amazon! This is yet another purchase that my husband immediately sticks up his nose to, but not for long! These glasses are amazing. We walk daily and can listen to the music of our choice which makes walking much more fun. If your phone rings, the microphone tells you who's calling and a tap of a button on the side of the glasses and you're connected to your call. If you want to fast forward or pause your music, just tap the button on the side of the frame. The sound is 100% Bose quality. The lenses are a brilliant shade of whatever makes the sky a beautiful blue! The lenses are so clear and dark enough that you can't see your eyes. Lenses are scratch and break resistant. Oh! Forgot to mention that you can control the volume on the side of the frame where the Bose logo is by sliding your finger forward or backward. It's simply an amazing product. We just got back from a road trip where my husband had to make several conference calls. I was able to wear my sunglasses and listen to my audio book or music while he talked on his Bose sun glasses. Clear as a bell reception and no complaints from those he spoke with. I basically bought them so my husband could listen to music and talk on the phone in his convertible, and when we go boating, but we wear them all the time now. I can't imagine living without them. They are lightweight and fit really well. I'm super sensitive to bright lights, and these glasses fit perfectly and give my eyes the protection that they need. I'm so happy with this purchase and my husband LOVES them! Highly recommend them. 100% worth every penny. The sound is AMAZING! You can spend the same amount of money on sunglasses, and we have plenty of them, but nothing comes close to these!

I really like these glasses for the quality of the lens and ability to purchase other high quality lenses at a reasonable price. Another big pro is how well they stay in place on your face. I hate it when glasses keep sliding down your nose no matter how many times you push them back up. The sound quality is very good but not audiophile level. Base is a little lighter than I would like but the sound is clear and when using the mic and speakers to answer a phone call they work very well. Of course one would prefer lighter but given the long battery life, I would chose the longer battery life over lighter weight. The one area of comfort that could be improved is in how snug these glasses are on the temples. This might be adjustable with a heat gun but I haven't tried it.

Another bonus is you can get prescription lenses including transition lenses making them more versatile for inside computer use. Overall, there is just nothing else to compare them to or that comes close to all the pluses this sunglass has to offer. You could easily pay this much or more for a pair of Maui Jims or Oakley's with no ability to listen to music or answer a phone call. Bottom line, I highly recommend them.
