I saw this product and chose it over the StreamDeck because I wanted the dials and round buttons on the bottom.
The dials work like dials, but no matter what page/workspace the screen buttons show, the buttons on the bottom never change. That's exactly what I wanted.

As far as how it works, it works fine. I had a little trouble with it at first, but restarting my PC (which fixes a lot of issues on any system) fixed some mildly glitchy behavior. It looks and behaves just as expected; I push buttons, and things happen.

But what I wasn't expecting was the amount of effort setting up the pages takes.

As a former StreamDeck user (through their Mobile App which is a much cheaper way to get started than buying the actual device), I was accustomed to being able to copy/paste buttons I wanted to move from one workspace to another. With LoupeDeck, there are currently no copy/paste features.

Another thing is that it's pretty new/not popular. I assume this, without research, because searching Google for information is remarkably useless.
I wanted to use LoupeDeck to write text to a file like I did with StreamDeck. On StreamDeck, I used Google to find a plugin that writes text directly to a file. On LoupeDeck, I used Google to no avail on how to get LoupeDeck to do similar, then used Google to learn how to write text with a Batch file, and then used LoupeDeck to launch the Batch file. Same results, but drastically different amounts of effort. Especially since I need a new Batch file for every piece of text I want to write.

I was also unable to find any way to add plugins to LoupeDeck to increase its functionality.

I've had several questions about LoupeDeck and its abilities, but searching for answers has been largely unhelpful, and so I leave this parting statement;

If you're already used to StreamDeck's flexibility and you choose to switch to LoupeDeck like I did, there will be some learning to do, and you might not be able to do everything you wanted.

COULD 100% be a gamechanger for live content but needs some serious software updates

I knew this device would be a game changer for streaming and only after a few hours of playing with it I'm in love. The design is really great. It feels like a solid piece of equipment and the knobs have a nice grip and feel to them as well. You can customize the knobs and touch screen for anything you want. I have been using it a lot for background music on Spotify and having the knobs to change volume levels without tabbing out is amazing. The touch screen is extremely responsive and you can add extra pages of buttons and just swipe over the buttons to change pages. The swipe is very smooth and quick and it even works for quick swiping up or down to switch pages and change the custom knobs. The software has a lot to it so it seems a little overwhelming at first but I was able to find my way around. Could maybe be a bit more user friendly but not a huge issue. If you can figure out a stream deck you can most likely figure out this but there is so much more you can do. The software is preloaded with profiles that automatically switch based on whatever program you switch to on your pc. I usually lock the profile so it doesn't switch while I'm streaming. I have noticed a problem where the Spotify integration just seems to stop working and I can't seem to get it back without restarting the Loupedeck. This is a quick fix as the device has a restart option but something that will hopefully be fixed in future software updates. I sent a message to technical support about this. Overall this device is amazing though. Having so much integration with programs from Adobe Photoshop to OBS Studio and so many more is incredible. I can't wait to continue to improve the production quality of my stream and my workflows when I'm creating content with the Loupedeck Live.

Edit regarding support from Loupedeck: Still waiting to hear back from support. The automated message said all for 1-2 days for a response but is been well over a week now. I'm still hoping for a response about the Spotify issue.

Edit: Support has assured me they are aware of the issues and are currently working on a software update.

The Loupedeck Live (what I've used for past year) features a beautifully brightly lit touch-screen with software adjustable backlight and HAPTIC FEEDBACK, additionally includes fully customizable jog wheels to control anything from media playback, to website scrolling to volume to active desktop--the possibilities are endless. I start with all of these points because the well-known competitor "Streamdeck" has done LITTLE to innovate and charge an absurb price--clearly abusing their reputation and market share. My review of the loupedeck, however won't be full slandering their main competitor, although warranted, but any poweruser or anyone seeking a quick shortcut to screencap or run a script or just have funny gifs playing on a bright screen for aesthetic purposes, should buy one. I respect their grind. I think their software could be a bit more intuitive, but compared to elgato's, now convoluted software, it's slightly better, so, yeah bite the bullet and purchase. It's fun.

I think this device works really well. I use it with Capture One, but also with other photo editing software like Exposure X6. For Capture One the Loupedeck Live works by mimicking the readily available keyboard shortcuts. This works pretty well in general and the Capture One custom profile is a help in setting this up. Having said that I did have to spend a good few hours setting up the device to be how I want it. I could have used the Capture One custom profile straight out of the box, I would say that it does not integrate with Capture One to it's full potential. I used the custom profile as a start point and modified the dials and buttons to suit my needs.

The software looks good, but it is a little unwieldy, although with a bit of patience it is easy enough to setup. The software seems stable in operation. The device itself has a really good build quality, the dials and buttons have a nice feel to them. The touch screen also works very well in my opinion.

I have started to set up other applications and over time I am sure I will get all of my most used apps integrated into the Loupedeck.

Overall I would say that the the Loupedeck Live has increased the speed of editing dramatically and I don't have to touch my keyboard at all while editing. I spend less time looking at sliders and messing with the user interface and more time looking at the image and the effect the sliders are having.

One minor gripe is that it needs a longer USB C cable. A one metre cable is provided, but for my setup a two metre cable would be better for my setup. It's a USB C to USB C cable so easy enough to get hold of.

I suppose the take away is that if you expect to receive the Loupedeck Live and start using it with applications like Capture One out of the box then you will be disappointed. If you are willing to put some time in to set the device up as you want it then I would say that the result is surprisingly good.

NOTE: Before you buy, check the Loupedeck website to see what extended software profiles are available and if one is not available for the software you are intending to use it with then the functionality that Loupedeck Live is capable of supporting is completely linked to the amount of shortcuts the intended software has. Example, Capture One has an impressive number of shortcuts available for many of the sliders and tools within it, so as you might expect each of these shortcuts can be assigned to buttons and dials with Loupedeck Live. DxO have a very limited amount of shortcuts within the software, so as you can imagine the amount of things that Loupedeck Live can be programmed to mimic will be limited.

Good hardware, poor software

I changed to this after using a StreamDeck, and I prefer the Loupedeck. I like the twist knobs, and I prefer the touch panel interface compared to the physical buttons on the Streamdeck. The 7 buttons along the bottom could have been useful if they had dynamic labels, as used on the twist knobs, but they are of less use just numbered 1 - 7.
What really lets down this product is the software. To me, it isn't even up to beta standard.
It's not particularly intuitive to use, but worse is the incorrect keymapping. For example, on a standard US keyboard, if I want the equals character, I have to press the minus key. There is a place to enter a key by description list, but 7 of the keys are just marked as OEM 1 - 7, with no idea what they actually are.
I ended up making a table of how the keys remap, and so far, I have found all the keystrokes I needed except the Tilde (~) character.
I have contacted their customer support, who responded promptly that it is a known issue and will be addressed in a future software update.
It doesn't detect when the Libre Office suite is open, instead showing the default Windows profile.
One function I think is missing, or if it is there, I haven't found it yet, is to have workspaces (screens) that can be shared between profiles (per app settings).
I would find it useful to make a workspace with Alt characters that I use often, and import that into each profile without having to remake the workspace for each profile. But that's another missing feature. I can't find any way to map an Alt key,for example Alt 0188 (¼), to a custom action.
Overall, good hardware, let down by the current software. The software needs a big upgrade before I could recommend this to most people.

If you read the website of Loupedeck, you'd think this was some sort of artisan product that spent several years of development to become the ultimate well thought out tool for creatives.

At the price though, I expected better. The biggest complaint is the screen for.the buttons. I've not seen such a nasty cheap display Inna very long time. It's that poor that some of the included icon set actually flickers when displayed. I cannot understate how bad it really is.

Then there's the haptic feedback. For some reason, there's an internal vibration motor to provide feedback when you use the touch buttons. It feels like a motor from a Nintendo 64 Rumble pack. I'm not sure why this is on by default as your main audience, streamers, are likely to find this annoying when it vibrates through their mic.

Then you have "pages", the screen buttons and rotory encoders have "pages" for each preset. Encoders are changed by swiping up and down on the screen, the buttons by swiping left and right.

Up and down is fine, as there's room on the screen labels for the encoders to do this. Left to right? You swipe on the button itself. It's not intuitive or accurate if you have human fingers.

Oh, plus my unit came with scratching on the bottom. The bottom plastic appears very prone to it.

All in all, for the money they want, this isn't a great product. Unless you have a specific reason for Loupedeck, look elsewhere.
