The Quantum Revelation: A Radical Synthesis of Science and Spirituality
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
To say that quantum physics is the greatest scientific discovery of all time is not an exaggeration. In their discovery of the quantum realm, the physics community stumbled upon a genuine multifaceted revelation that can be likened to a profound spiritual treasure - a heretofore undreamed of creative power - hidden within our own mind. Quantum physics unequivocally points out that the study of the universe and the study of consciousness are inseparably linked, which is to say that ultimate progress in the one will be impossible without progress in the other.
Written for those with no physics background, Paul Levy's latest book, The Quantum Revelation: A Radical Synthesis of Science and Spirituality, is for those who have heard that quantum physics is a fascinating subject but don't quite understand how or why. Levy contemplates the deeper philosophical underpinnings of quantum physics, exploring the fundamental questions it provokes: What does it mean that quantum theory has discovered that there is no such thing as "objective reality?" How are we participating - via our consciousness - in creating our experience of a reality that quantum theory itself describes as "dreamlike"? What are the implications for us in our day-to-day lives that - as quantum theory reveals - what we call reality is more like a dream than we had previously imagined?

- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2019Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseWhether you have read a hundred books on quantum physics and spirituality or you are just now poking your toe in the water, this beautifully written book will inspire you to delve further and show you how you might integrate the knowledge into your daily life. I feel so uplifted and hopeful about changing our world for the better after reading this book, despite the giant messes we face.
Through The Quantum Revelation: A Radical Synthesis of Science and Spirituality, I came to appreciate how magnificent the gift of this new science is. Paul Levy has explained how the dream-like implications of quantum physics affect the state of our consciousness and vice versa. He uses smart and relatable analogies throughout the book, that make the science understandable; you’ll learn what the “observer effect,” “uncertainty,” and “superposition” have to do with your own life. You will get a new take on psychological concepts like “the shadow,” archetypes, and synchronicities.
For lovers of knowledge, the research the author has done and the way he has synthesized it into a whole is impressive. You will come away with an even greater appreciation of the creative geniuses who opened the quantum world up to us—Wheeler, Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrödinger, Einstein, Bohm, and others, not to mention some of the greatest spiritual teachers throughout history. The author builds on his thesis, chapter by chapter, till you come to the ending where the integrated whole doesn’t seem radical at all.
For me, this book provides plausible answers to some of those questions that I could never get satisfactorily answered before—like, if we each are creating our own version of reality, then why do so many of us see the same version? There are so many gems in this work, one read through won’t be enough. It’s the kind of book I know I will refer to again and again as my own level of consciousness grows and I am able to get more out of it each time.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2021Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis is an amazing and very scholarly book which discusses the implications of quantum theory on our life, consciousness and reality. The fundamental thesis is that quantum theory indicates that our consciousness is intertwined with that which we observe. We affect what we observe by focusing on it and becoming conscious of it. Quantum theory dissolves the common "delusion" that our observing subjective being is separate from the objective world around us. The author references almost a thousand quotes from great scientists and thinkers, many from John Wheeler, on the implications of quantum theory.
Aside from a brief discussion of the double slit experiment early on in the book, there is very little discussion on the actual experiments of quantum theory itself. This book is almost exclusively a discussion of the awe inspiring implications of quantum theory which seem to point to an "Idealist" view of consciousness. I would personally advise the reader to familiarize themselves with some basic quantum theory first. This doesn't have to be mathematical, just some of the experiments and their results.
Overall, this is a very compelling and interesting read from start to finish. Very much recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2020Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseIf you're interested in spirituality, the quantum field, this book is absolutely golden! It's written in a way that helps you (almost) understand how reality works or what reality even is. It opens your mind to fantastic possibilities and ideas. If you read about the Law of Attraction or other spiritual books you'll recognize some or perhaps even most of the ideas in this book. BUT to see them presented alongside recent research and findings is absolutely fascinating and opens your mind to completely new insights and ideas. At least, that's what reading this book did for me. A mind-boggling, extra-ordinary read!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2022Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseSomewhere along the way, in the last century, physicists seem to have lost their perspective on the importance of their field. Physics today is a narrow discipline that automatically excludes anything to do with consciousness, despite the interpretations of the double slit experiment by the otherwise revered discoverers of quantum mechanics. Physics and philosophy are inextricably intertwined, yet much of modern physics, like much of modern science, is segmented and does not encourage conjecture into adjacent disciplines. If you are someone who is interested in the cutting edge of physics and has become disillusioned by modern physics' inability to make any progress on "the theory of everything", then this book is a refreshing perspective on what lies in the quantum realm. Just like a good scientific theory, more questions than answers are provided in "Quantum Revelation". Instead of inserting his own radical ideas, Paul Levy spends much of the book stitching together the perspectives of the great physics philosophers of the 21st century whose ideas marvelously coincide with great spiritual thinkers of the past. Modern cosmology is about measuring things, traditional cosmology is about seeking the patterns of the universe. Paul Levy is a modern-day cosmologist in the traditional and truest sense of the word.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2022None of the fonts in my kindle fit this text. An apostrophe prints as half-a-dozen special characters...very irritating to read. Curious that no one from Kindle checks this sort of thing.
I will retract this review when the problem is fixed.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2022I've long been interested in Quantum physics coming from a para-normal bend, rather than a scientific one. And, this is the best book I've ever read along that line. There are places that are "head-banging" hard to follow, and there are suggestions by some scientists that one has to take with a grain of salt, but this is the most enlightening, clarifying, knowledgeable and authoritative book I've read on the subject. I would highly recommend it.

DanielReviewed in Australia on November 22, 20194.0 out of 5 stars Great summary of quantum physics and its implications
Quantum physics is something that's fascinated me for a pretty long time. I read Biocentrism but this didn't really explain the implications too well in my view. This book compiles all the different research and views from leading physicists in a way that demonstrates the practical implications of quantum physics and how it can change things.
J. LovasReviewed in Canada on March 12, 20225.0 out of 5 stars Brilliantly mind-expanding AND optimistic!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThe author sees & describes quantum theory with the sensitivity of a long-time meditator (which he is) and poet. His emphasis is clearly on helping us apprehend ('grok') the big picture ('gestalt') and practical ramifications of quantum theory, as it pertains to our lives today. He skillfully leads us, via several different perspectives, towards appreciating his unbridled enthusiasm for the wonderful possibilities that quantum theory opens up for humanity. We DO require an open mind - which most of us claim, but relatively few actually have. From a religious perspective, we may think that "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" and "hellfire & brimstone" are horrible old ideas we've all outgrown, but when we look at what's going on in today's world, we still don't seem to have a clue about what the Sermon on the Mount was about. Because so many of us are similarly stuck in rigid adherence to old mechanistic Newtonian ideas, we urgently need to "recognize & then consciously engage our own quantum nature.” This is a terrific book that requires at least 2 reads! Enthusiastically recommended!
S.C.NReviewed in the United Kingdom on June 5, 20185.0 out of 5 stars The most important book I have ever read
This book does more for me than any other book I have read, and I say that with complete sincerity. I have had experiences like Paul when I was younger, and I consider myself as wounded, but able to see more clearly because of those wounds. For me, this book is very much a map of reality, as secretly perceived in my mind, except that I would never dare to say that, if I was the only voice.
Then, when I started reading it, it felt as if someone had put the contents of my mind into a book. This was the first time I ever saw my deepest secret thoughts, laid down in words and phrases and sentences thought out so carefully. For me, it shows how connected we all are.
If I see it like this, I am certain there must be others too. I think we are now at the time where quantum physics can be fully understood by everyone, and soon, maybe some will start to learn to use the gift that creation has given us. To quote Paul: "According to quantum theory, the best way to predict the future is to invent it ourselves. Welcome to the world of quantum physics!"
That statement does not do the book justice. It's not another new age claim. The book is well researched with quotes people such as John Archibald Wheeler. You really have to read it to appreciate. If you are in two minds, buy it. You won't regret.

Thought provoking and a view of a very complex topic explained in terms anyone can grasp. I enjoyed the book immensely and it gave me a new way of looking at the universe and myself.
