We just had a baby and the medium size bags are the perfect size to store baby clothes!! These bags help me keep the baby clothes organized and safe in storage. The bags are heavy duty and can be used multiple times each. I use my own vacuume to get rid of the air and it works great! They hold the vacuum well.

We used these to pack for our vacation to reduce the size of our items. They were easy to seal using our vacuum. At the end of the vacation we used them again for our wet towels and dirty laundry. We had taken the hand pump along. Once we laid on the bag to push out as much air as possible, we zipped it up. We used the hand pump to get the remaining air out and it took less than 20 seconds. It worked perfectly. We have recommended them to several friends already. I will give you one piece of advice. After you lay on the bag to get out the first bit of air and zip it shut, put the bag into whatever you’re packing it into. When you pump/suck the remaining air out, the bag will conform to the item it’s packed into. We did our first bag with our sheets and pillows (we were going camping and packing into stacking storage bins) zipped into the bags but when we sucked out the last bit of air it wouldn’t lay flat in the bottom of the bin. It gets so solid after removing the air, you can’t bend it. Putting it into the suitcase or bin prior to removing the air for the last time makes it fit perfectly into the area you want it in. HIGHLY recommend!

Loses Vacuum Seal When Flying

I bought this Spacesaver Vacuum Storage Bag so I could pack my own bed pillow for travel without it taking up excess room in my luggage. First, the hand pump is a total waste. Over 150 strokes and it still could not completely suck the air out of the bag like a vacuum cleaner could. Nevertheless, I still brought the storage bag and pump with me for my trip. After a layover in Denver with an 8:00 am flight to catch the next day, I tossed the hand pump in the hotel garbage. I ended up putting my pillow in the Spacesaver Vacuum Storage Bag, laid my luggage on top of it, and pressed it down to squish my pillow down and force the air out.

I would say that if you are planning to use the Spacesaver Vacuum Storage Bag to bring your pillow with you for flight travel, it is still worth it, as it will keep your pillow clean and easier to pack. However, don't expect the hand pump to work. Also, the bag seemed to lose its seal from the altitude change in flight - my pillow had completely expanded when I opened my luggage later that evening. Nonetheless, it does help to squish it down with your luggage, toss it in last, and then you can more easily zip your luggage closed. That's my take on it!

Ich habe die Vakkumbeutel für meine Fursuits (Tieskostüme) gekauft, da Kunstfell in Kombination mit Schaumstoff und Füllwatte unheimlich viel Platz wegnimmt, was gerade bei Flügen dazu führt, dass einem schlichtweg nichts anderes übrig bleibt, als die einzelnen Teile (bis auf den Kopf) in Vakuumbeutel zu packen.

Bisher hatte ich bei Reisen immer das Problem, dass einzelne Vakuumbeutel anderer Hersteller aufgingen oder sogar kaputt waren. Das ist auf meinen letzten 4 Flügen mit diesen Vakuumbeuteln von SpaceSafer anders. Einzelne Beutel ziehen allerdings über die Zeit hinweg Luft, wenn sie zu voll gepackt sind. Unbedingt die Fülllinie beachten!

Contra:

Passt unbedingt auf, was für Material sich direkt hinter dem Saugverschluss befindet. Der Verschluss hat von innen ein sternförmiges Muster, das sich ggf. eindrückt/einprägt. Ich hatte mehrere Tage lang einen sternförmigen Abdruck in einem Vinylteil meines Kostüms. Das lag aber an mir selbst und lässt sich einfach vermeiden indem man vorher schaut, was sich dahinter befindet.

Ich habe die inkludierte Handpumpe nicht verwendet, da ich bisher immer (sogar in Hotels auf Nachfrage) einen Staubsauger zur Verfügung hatte.

Alles in allem 5 Sterne.
