I am a very active PC user and do a mix of things including but not limited to gaming, photoshop, compression, media authoring and encoding, and game modding. My last very expensive but ancient Das Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches died and left me needing a cheap replacement to fill the gap. The Kailh switches, standard 104 key design, full RGB, and open chassis with aluminum plate is quite a potent combination of features. For the ~$60 I paid it is an awesome deal and in many ways matches or beats the Das Keyboard. This might actually be a legitimate replacement.

The frameless design with the aluminum plate behind the keys is a perfect combination. The keyboard takes up a little less desktop realestate while also looking great and being easier to keep clean. The construction is very rigid and the keyboard has no flex at all. It feels like a very premium product. The switches are rated to be very water and dust resistant and, heaven forbid, this keyboard should take spills just fine.

Kaihl Blue switches are the highlight of this keyboard for me. Some might disagree but I have found them to be better and more reliable than Cherry. Even just being a clone, they are a noticeable upgrade over Cherry MX. They feel stouter and are less loose and rattly. Typing in general is great with a super consistent response. I usually prefer heavier keys, and long term intend to build a custom keyboard with switches of my choice. These are excellent for a jack-of-all-trades keyboard though and will be enough for the majority of users.

The aluminum plate behind the keys is great and makes a bigger difference than one would think. A big part of how keyboard switches feel is the chassis they are mounted on and the feedback they provide when bottoming out. Because the plate is very rigid and made of metal, it provides a lot more solid feedback than bottoming out on a plastic keyboard that flexes. It provides a more definite and satisfying feel to every keystroke. I feel that this enhances the precise feel of the Kaihl switches and boosts the typing experience of this keyboard massively.

The RGB capabilities of this board are awesome, and it is capable of very vibrant color and individually lit keys. I usually leave it at kind of a bluish white at medium brightness for regular use. But sometimes it's fun to just have blinding rainbow puke lighting up the room, haha. The main advantage though is that it's a backlit keyboard which is great for everything from gaming to late night Amazon review writing. The metal surface underneath gives just enough light bleed to make the board very consistent and pleasing. Front facing LEDs was a smart choice for this frameless design and keeps it from bothering you at an angle.

The only major downsides for this keyboard, at least for me, are entirely subjective. I do not like capslock keys without notches. It's simply too easy to hit and I often find my pinky hitting the key when I don't intend to. This key is notched on many keyboards for a reason and I feel like it would be more satisfying to use with it included. Compounding this issue is the fact that I don't really like Blue switches and find them to be too light to the touch. I prefer heavier switches like Kaihl Box Jades or White V2s. I have large, heavy hands and have too many typos due to how light these switches are.

All that being said, MSI are offering awesome bang for buck in this keyboard. It is well built with good component choice and thoughtful design. There is some downright good product engineering here and the combined features allow it to punch above its weight. Time will tell how long it lasts but I intend to give it a shot.

I bought this for my work computer because it was due for an upgrade, took it for a test drive and I loved it so much that I bought one for home.

I like the ergonomics, it fits me really well. Really good quality for the price. Performs just as well as my Corsair keyboard.

I like that it's a minimalist style, there's not a bunch of wasted plastic making a pointless border around the keys. At first I wasn't sure about how much noise the keyboard made as my old one was very quiet, but I have grown to appreciate it because it gives me an audible and tactile feedback when I press they keys.

I must say for the price you are getting bang for your buck. It doesn't feel cheap when typing on the keys do a lot of clicky click that anyone could hear it if there in your room or in an office setting, I would say? Not that it's a minus. :)

The lighting of the keyboard is pretty dang bright so you can see each key light up perfectly. I do like the built in presets of the lighting for the keyboard. Though I still like making my own color of choice which you can do if you have the msi software installed to do it.

I can't think of anything else that not a plus on it. I would say I wish the switches can be replaced hot swapped, but they can't there solder on. So, if you know how to solder them off to replace them then that's a plus for you. For someone like me not so good lol. I don't have steady hands that's why.

Aside from that I expect this keyboard to last many years to come. :)

Extremely comfortable to type on. Has high build quality and great feel on the keys. Using the version with the Numpad at home and version without numpad at work. Everyone in my home life I have suggested this keyboard to so far has loved it. Multiple other people at work have purchased the same keyboard after just trying mine out for a few minutes.

Difficult to describe why it's so much better than other options as it's mostly subjective. The keys have an indented surface and are not square topped they have each corner shaved. The keys have a different texture as well that feels soft and does an amazing job keeping the keyboard clean looking. Combined It's just a pleasure to type on for short or long periods and offers a feel and typing experience far superior to other mechanical keyboard (or membrane) options I have used.

This was the first MSI keyboard I have used. I've had a lot of other more expensive ones in the past but could not be happier. The mechanical keys have the perfect feedback for me. There is an audible and tactile response to the key press which is precisely what I was looking for without being too loud. The keyboard LEDs are very customizable with the MSI program. It works great for gaming as well as surfing the web and messaging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid keyboard, nice and clicky

Either pricey for a basic keyboard, or basic for a nearly $100 board...chicken or the egg?

You'll never get two people to agree on what matters most for their keyboard...computer input devices have become as personal as undergarments or favorite foods. Build quality seems good, it's too new to judge longevity, so the only real questions are what are you looking for in a new 'board.

These full-height keys click nicely, and are proper mechanical. There's a full numpad (still don't get why boards are taking these away). It's wired (USB). Other than those basics, the only "extra feature" worth mentioning is there is lighting on the board...quite impressive lighting for its price range.

I didn't much care for the lights but was too lazy to read the instructions, so I kept holding the dragon key and randomly tapping the Ins/Del rows hoping to make it stop. Didn't kill the backlight completely, but did activate this color-shifting cool effect where it only lights the key you press, and then a wave left-and-right from that key. Unobtrusive enough to enjoy in a work setting without burning out my eyes or distracting.

Last, and most important thing of note...you DON'T need the MSI software. The lighting, basic functionality, all plug-and-play without more than Windows auto-detecting a driver. For those like me who are sick of 3rd-party bloatware, that's a plus. (Not everything you plug in needs its own software suite!!!)
