About Wiring

Input voltage of this USB outlet support DC 12V to 24V, cannot be used at home as power adapter. Unless a voltage converter is used to convert household alternating current into direct current 12-24 volts.

Power button is deceptive

Overall this charging unit works well in doing what it’s supposed to do. The problem I have is with the operation of the power switch. Every time I turn off the car, which removes power to this unit, when you turn the car back on, you have to press the power switch again to turn the charger back on again. So like if you’re driving along charging something with this unit, and you stop to put gas in your car, turning it off. When you hop back in and start your car, thinking your device is continuing to charge, IT’S NOT. You have to remember to press the power switch again to turn on this unit again or it won’t be charging. That was too many things for me to remember. So I took this unit back out and got one that turns on when you turn on the car without pressing a button on the charger. Makes my life simpler.

this was a promtly delivered(2 days early) and looks like it is solidly made. the instructions are virtually non-existent. it basically says, attach the positive lead to the positive pole of the battery and the negative lead to the negative pole. OMG. it says nothing about suggested voltage. it gives no instructions on installing it into the vehicle. i installed mine in a golf cart. the amazon page had some instuctions, and an admonition to call/contact them if i had any concerns about installation. HOWEVER, i could not see a phone number or email address on the site.
i ended up running a pair of wires from the battery compartment to the charger. i attached it to a battery and the volt meter lit right up. the batteries in my cart are 8 volt. we'll see how that affects the charger.
i installed the cover on the lower aspect of the device, so that it would not hang down over the USB ports and thereby interfere with attempts to plug in the cables.
it could have been easier, but there were no unused cables behind the dash, so it required me to run the wires.
the on/off button is nicely tactile and an excellent feature.
--addendum: the charger works fine. it quickly charged my samsung galaxy. the on-off switch works well and is really important if you do not have access to the ignition, to allow you to only turn it on when the vehicle is turned on.

This just was not the quality look and feel I expected for the pricing. It would look ok in a Pinto but totally inappropriate for a Corvette. I have doubts about it being able to stay tight and secure very long. Mount where you can retighten it easily or consider thread sealer. I may consider recommending it to a friend if I found out they kicked my dog. Make sure you don't consider a Pinto a collectors car.

Power button is good, and essential since my 12volt outlet is on after turning off the engine. I have not tested the auto off feature mentioned.

Just installed 3 in my Wolf pup 16bhs travel trailer. No buzzing when charging, seems to charge fast thus far but will update when actually used.

The cover depresses the power button when placed so I removed those. Also appears that no power flows when the voltmeter is not powered on so if you want to use this in a dark place be mindful of that light. Will likely sharpie over it or put a thin film over to reduce the intensity.

Looked at the contacts they had a lot of rust and could not get the USB to charge I bought it back in August of 2021 by November it was rusted out. I don’t keep boat in the water I only use the boat 2 times a a week in salt water for fishing, it is installed inside my enclosed Cuddy Cabin the salt air must of caused it rust.

Poor Quality Control

I bought 2 units. The first one I hooked up worked great and displayed an accurate voltage according to my Fluke multimeter. Then for some reason the display starting giving the voltage a whole decimal place off. So if the supply voltage was 12.8V the display read 1.28V. It still works and charges just fine.

The second one’s rubber on/off switch was mashed into the units face upon arrival. I used my fingernails to pull out the rubber cover a bit and situated it so it would work. But now if you try and close the units protective cover it will turn on.

Both work fine for my needs but not like they’re supposed to.

Es ist, entgegen der Beschreibung nicht mit einem Ein-/Ausschalter bestückt, hat auch kein Metallgehäuse und kein Anschlusskabel mit Sicherung.
Den Verkäufer habe ich angeschrieben, aber noch keine Antwort erhalten.
Ob ich das Teil nun zurückschicke weiß ich noch nicht. Eventuell baue ich es in meinem Boot auch so ein.

Lieferung war schnell und die Steckdose war auch ordentlich verpackt. Einbau mit einem 30mm Stufenbohrer und Anschluss an Zündungsplus war problemlos in der Verkleidung möglich. Anschlusskabel war lang genug und eine Sicherung ist auch vorhanden. Der Deckel schützt ausreichend und die Abschaltfunktion bringt einen zusätzlichen Nutzen. Man könnte die Bordsteckdose auch über Dauerplus anschließen, da der Schalter ein Entladen verhindern würde. Leider hat die Dose nach zwei Wochen den Dienst quittiert, nachdem sie zuvor jedoch tadellos funktioniert hat. Zwei Geräte gleichzeitig ließen sich "normal" aufladen bzw. betreiben. Die Anzeige ist auch sehr hilfreich, da man sehen kann ob die Bordspannung passt und die Fahrzeugbatterie geladen wird. Dann ging sie während der Fahrt aus. Wenn der Knopf gedrückt wird, fließt Strom. Wenn man wieder loslässt ist die Dose aus. Ich habe ein neue bestellt, in der Hoffnung, diese hält dann länger. Eine Kaufempfehlung kann ich daher nur bedingt aussprechen. Wenn sie länger halten würde, wäre sie wirklich top!
