Just loved these characters and setting, what a cool concept a no-bakery

This was a really sweet cozy, and I'm such a sucker for a girl and her grandpa hanging out. Probably because my grandpa used to be my buddy too. The mystery was pretty easy to guess, but it was more about how Nessa and her friends solved it.

I enjoyed that Nessa didn't take forever making up her mind on her important decision, and I thought it was sweet that she and her guy friend Daniel could take back up with pretty much ease. It was hilarious how she still enjoyed teasing and bantering back and forth with his younger but now grown sister, Bizzie. Nessa was pretty good at dealing with people, and she even found a good way to deal with that disagreeable girl. I'll definitely continue reading this series.

The story was a bit simplistic and sometimes seemed like something was "skipped" in the telling. But I enjoyed the story overall. I liked that the characters were nice people, even when someone was not so nice to them. I liked that the mystery remained a mystery and didn't turn into a full-blown romance, which is a big turn off when you planned to read a murder mystery. I'm hoping that this series keeps improving with time and gets more rounded and complex. If the second book keeps me interested in the series, I'll continue reading to the end.

I really like Nessa and her grandfather Lex. I like the little feud between Bizzie and Nessa.
Nessa comes to town to visit for a week and gets accused of a crime, so now it's up to Nessa, Lex, Faye, Mavery and Ranger the head of the neighborhood watch to solve the mystery.
They have alot to sift through to get answers.
Read for details!!!! You will enjoy it. I felt like i was right there the whole time i was reading.
