The Iron Curtain over America was first published in the middle of the Korean War and at the beginning of the Cold War. It is written by John Beaty, a regular American who served in the War Department during the Second World War. John Beaty, rose to the rank of Colonel and worked as an intelligence officer. In that position he had a unique view of the Operations of the Roosevelt and Truman Administrations during the transition from the British-German War Epoch to the Cold War. His experiences led him to write this very logical book. In many ways, Colonel Beaty is like Lieutenant Colonel Karen U. Kwiatkowski, who observed the same sort of treachery from the same sorts of people to lead America astray during the Bush II Administration. While this book is tied to the dates and problems of the early Cold War it is still a worthy read. Its worth can be looked through several different blocks of ideas.
First, ideas presented therein which were adopted and worked:
Colonel Beaty argues that the United States should recognize Germany as an important barrier to the Communists from the Asiatic East. As such, the nation should be re-armed and made an ally. This has been done to glittering success. As I understand it, German troops through NATO can support the Baltic Nations for Western Civilization. Second, the United States should include Spain in NATO (done). Additionally, the United States Congress should seek to remove persons who are Communists from all important positions of leadership in America, such as Labor Unions, the Civil Service, the State Department, etc. (Again done, to great effect)
Next, Beaty exposes the trickery and espionage engaged by Communists and he names names:
In particular he focuses on Alger Hiss and the Atomic Spies the Rosenbergs. Looking back today, following the Cold War we now know Beaty wasn't only right, but he didn't name enough names. Harry Dexter White, the Jewish Assistant of the Treasury was also a Soviet Spy who did immense damage. For a total list, read the results of the Venona Project.
Thirdly, Colonel Beaty exposes the Jewish pressure groups that influence American politics:
Here is arguments can apply to modern days. He argues that in America, Ashkenazi Jews are more loyal to international Jewry and the Soviet Union than America. He also argues that the Ashkenazi Jews are Khazars and not related to the ancient Hebrews at all. In the book Beaty documents what he calls censorship, and what today would be called a news blackout or-regular run of the mill Mainstream Media selective reporting. He shows how printing presses which held the blocks for ancient classical literature critical of Jewry (or what he calls Khazars) were melted down for "strategic" metallic scrap with a value less than the use of the metal to make books.
He also goes on to describe the intense pressure that "Khazars" put on the Democratic Party. This pressure has led to America's disastrous support for Israel (he uses scare quotes whenever he mentions Israel). The problems to America for supporting Israel are the same then as they are now.
Critical Thinking:
This book is very likely the first book which questions the "6 Million" number of Jews killed during WWII. Beaty wrote the book prior to the "Holocaustization" of American culture. He questions the story in matter of fact terms and uses World Census Data from before and after the war to argue such a large number is not the truth. He insists that the number is a way for Israel to cheat Germany (and later other nations such as Switzerland) out of money for "reparations." Despite the American government, through the course of the Cold War carrying out most of the strategies outlined by Beaty, very little has been done to counter the use of the Holocaust as a weapon. It would be an interesting discussion to see why this is the case.
Beaty discusses the Yalta give-away made by the Roosevelt Administration, and makes the case that communists in the US Government and gross mismanagement led to the fall of China to the Communists. He also ties in the Yalta disaster with the Unconditional Surrender Policy towards Germany. This reviewer must wonder if the Unconditional Surrender Policy was the evil described within the book. It certainly led to more casualties, but it also lead to a lasting peace in Europe and the Cold War was still won. Therefore the Yalta Conference was overturned by the work of anti-Communist fighters within a framework of peace. The fall of China to the Communists was a disaster. Today China is prosperous but one must ask if that prosperity could have come earlier without the Mao famine, the Korean War, and Chinese support for the North Vietnamese during the 1950s and 1960s.
Through his descriptions of the how and whys of the sudden, post-war advance of the Communists, Beaty personalizes the discontent onto persons within the Truman Administration. It is a very effective tactic.
Finally, Beaty's use of the Khazar Hypothesis is problematic. DNA science shows Ashkenazi Jews have a large amount of Mid-Eastern DNA. This doesn't disprove the hypothesis entirely, but it does make it far less probable. Beaty's ideas loose force when he insists that Eastern European Ashkenazis are something other than what they purport to be. Even without DNA technology, the strategy is a risky argument. His criticism of Ashkenazi Jews loses force when he interchanges Ashkenazi with Khazar, Eastern European, or non-Christian European.
