Not a big fan of fantasy stories, but this short story was really good. The characters are amazing and take you on an action packed adventure full of twists, turns, suspense, mystery and heartbreak that keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

The reason for the 4 stars is because it was a little hard to follow at times with all the kids names beginning with C's and when the chapters started, you didn't know who was talking at first.

This was so chaotic. There is no flow to the storyline, I still have no idea what the plot is supposed to be and the characters are so whiny it’s like nails scratching the chalkboard.. I cringe just thinking about how horribly written this is.

First of all, the cover for this book is stunning!
I loved this story right from the prologue. The writing was rich and the story so compelling that I was instantly hooked.
When Chantara learned of her fate, I was very curious to see where things would go from there. The drama and emotion was very strong in this book. As I reached the climax and conclusion, I was absolutely shocked by the turn of events. Everything happened so quickly, and it was not what I expected. I think this is my favorite E.S. McMillan story to date and I definitely can't wait to read what happens next.

I've never read a story about mermaids or sirens before but this is a fun and suspenseful read. Can't wait to read more.

Chantara was born shortly after her father died at the hands of humans and her mother believes she will be the one to avenge them. Her sister is pushed aside and resents Chantara. As Chantara learns the truth she must decide if she will do what is expected of her or follow her own heart.
A well written short story with some intriguing characters. One for paranormal fans.
