Very large magnifier with some heft to it.
Lights are pretty bright, should be plenty bright enough.
Came ready with 3 Energizer batteries, though one was leaking.
No protection against the batteries being connected to the light, bummer. but it looked like my inner wrapping had been opened so i suspect i got a returned item.

Unit seems to be nice, but the button is very easy to activate unintentionally so i'll have to find a way to protect against that in some small case or such. Would be nice if the switch required a bit more force or was protected/recessed.

This JMH 30X bad boy swooped in and saved my poor millennial-turned-boomer eyes from the tyranny of tiny print smaller than a gnat’s gossip. Thirty. Freaking. X. That’s not a magnifier, that’s a full-on electron microscope for the fabulous and over-40 crowd. I held it over my jewelry and suddenly my “vintage” rings looked like they belonged in the Crown Jewels – every scratch, every sparkle, every questionable life choice that led to that cubic zirconia screaming in 4K.
But wait, the DRAMA doesn’t stop there. Eighteen – count ’em – EIGHTEEN LEDs with three modes: cold light (for when you’re feeling clinical and want to judge your pores), warm light (for cozy late-night reading that makes you feel like a sexy librarian), and mixed (because why choose when you can have it all?). It’s brighter than my future and twice as illuminating.
The lens is legitimately HUGE – no more doing the awkward magnifying-glass-hover-dance trying to catch two sentences at once. I can finally read ingredient labels without pressing my face into the jar like a desperate raccoon. Seniors? Coin collectors? Jewelry hoarders? Macular degeneration warriors? This is your new ride-or-die.
Lightweight, sturdy, doesn’t make my wrist cry after five minutes, and the lights are so extra I half expect it to start beat-dropping. For the price? Honey, I’d pay double just to watch it outshine every other sad, dim, 5X drugstore tragedy I’ve ever owned.
