That was a surprise and a half actually!
The celebrations were fun and should have known there would be a more violent aspect to it... so many creatures that are mostly based off of Irish/Celtic mythology which usually gets slammed together under the label if Fae, which tends to be more violent as a people in pretty much anything I have read...
Anyways, not to get stuck on that, I love the giant fire creature and was glad to see him again.
But moving on to actual to an actual review...
This one definitely felt like we went into a coasting phase but still had a lot of fun.
I loved the moment with Cheyenne and the little Drow girl. The way Cheyenne saw herself in the kid and gave her something to work towards so that the kid could actually push herself. It's more than anyone else seemed willing to do with the kid in what seemed like a common thing where some parents and other mentors to children will sometimes hold their charge back. While claiming certain reasons that they themselves, more than likely also felt was stupid and frustrating when they were around that age. Which I figure is even worse when we are talking centuries old creatures who aren't accustomed to change and things being done a certain way based on pretty covers like the word "traditions"...
Then we have one of my favorite moment of our eccentric Drow who is very much like our favorite Pirate from a certain movie about pirates... in the Caribbean.
And the way Cheyenne's very mind seemed to forget how to work around him... I laughed so hard! Wasn't sure any man would be able to get past the Sumerlin Scion's shield. Definitely hope to see him again!
I am making this review too long again... ugh!
I'll summarize the rest;
Planned cure didn't work and made things worse... yeah, Necromancers are not known to help things that are still alive... but hey, he could be useful if Cheyenne does die... right...?
Going through the palace leads to a discovery of possible issues on Earth. So time to head back, with some backup.
I was on the edge of my seat through the whole situation with getting back the Summerlin astate and something is definitely off...! Oh man, that was a trainwreck and a half!
I can't really think anymore but I NEED more so on to the next book!!!
Thank you Carr and Anderle!
And great job Sorvari, as usual, but I especially loved how you did the eccentric Drow shopkeeper's voice! It was fantastic!!!
