If I were just doing a wiring project, these would be ideal.
I purchased a bunch of flush-cutters of various makes/models as I wanted a lot of variations on the same theme.
Of the 4 I have, these are the most comfortable, but also the worst for general hobby use.
Cons:
The paint/parkerization coating goes over the "flush cut" side of the blades so there's ever so slightly less ability to cut flushly. Also the blades are slightly skewed so they could never cut it a straight line (my application is removal of support material from 3D prints) nor cut with any accuracy. Last, the jaws also do not open very wide.
Pros:
The handles however, ARE the most comfortable of the group.
I'm giving these 3/5 as they're a reasonable price, idea for wiring projects specifically, just not much else.
I would not purchase these again.

I purchased the cutters for use when making plastic model kits. I needed something, other than a sharp razor knife, to remove parts from the sprue trees with minimal damage. I also didn't want to spend a lot on them (as you can see, with a quick search, others can be quite expensive). I had not seen these before and took a chance on them when they "popped-up" as a recommended item for me. I'm glad I did.
I've now used them while build a model and found they work very well. This was a European model kit which has soft plastic, these cutters easily handled them and cut through the plastic without crushing. The parts came away from the sprues cleanly and without effort. The handles are spring-loaded and the cutting blades, on my example, are perfectly aligned. I would readily recommend them to other modelers as a cost-effective tool for model building.

On the last ones I ordered, the hinged is slightly loose, and the jaws don't line up properly (which kind of defeats the purpose of a flush cutter if you ask me). Amazon sent a replacement, and it had the same problems. 2 of the pictures are my old ones purchased ~11mo ago and used (not abused) consistently since. I'd say which 2, but Amazon reorders them. Anyways, you can probably guess which are the new ones.

These used to be great, but either the manufacturer's tooling or QA have gone downhill in the last several months. Maybe it's time to rebuild some of the machines?

Qualty precision product made in Italy... Update: 10/29/15--Flawed cutters with blades that are NOT parallel...
Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2015Size: Pack 1Style: CutterVerified Purchase
I added this pair of SOFT wire cutters to my collection. I own two other pairs, a Plato brand (made in USA) and a Klein brand. I bought this pair namely because of the Hakko brand. I own one of their soldering stations and it is a first-rate product indicating quality and precision. Of the three, I find myself using the Plato brand cutters more. They seem to be lighter and a tad smaller (not by much) for the electronics work I do. This is just a personal preference, as IMHO, any of the three are quality cutters that will do the job on the electronics workbench.
These cutters appear to be precision-made, quality cutters with a nice matte black finish. The pair I received came sealed in a plastic bag with the Hakko name and logo on the front. I will say that the pliers inside had ""C.H.P. Quality Tools" and a non-Hakko logo displayed on the handle. Now, I don't know whether the two companies are one in the same or different companies. What I do know is that the name "Hakko" is NOT apparent anywhere on the actual cutters.
Branding aside, the cutters are labeled as "Made in Italy" and have performed well to date. They make nice clean parallel to the PCB's that I work on. One thing that I have learned over the years is that IT PAYS TO HAVE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB--every time! As the description says, these cutters are for cutting SOFT copper wire. They are NOT intended to cut anything else...
***Update
I originally gave these cutters a 5-star rating. After looking closely at the cutter while I used them for the first time, I noticed that the blades are not parallel. About 1mm touch near the tip of the blades and there is a noticeable (see pic) gap on the portion that is closest to the pivot. In other words, whoever cut the blades was not paying attention--nor was the quality control folks (providing that the cutters were inspected, as they should have been).
Needless to say, cutters whose blades are not parallel, will not cut properly! Due to the blades not being parallel, I will be lowering my initial rating to 2-stars. There is no excuse for blades not are not parallel on a tool with the Hakko label!
I will be returning these cutters.

Best small cutters around for the price. Full stop. End of story. You can stop reading here and just purchase them.
Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2017Size: Pack 1Style: CutterVerified Purchase
As you can see from the pics, mine have been ridden hard and put away wet. Do not let the cutting blade condition fool you, these will work forever if you use them as designed (small elec wire, cable ties, etc). However mine have been put into service performing operations they were not strictly designed for.
These cutters have survived:
- Loosening screws
- Cutting thin sheet metal
- Cutting plastic
- Cutting more robust wire than they should have
- Prying up random clips and such
- Being accidentally dunked in carb cleaner
- Being sprayed off with Brakleen after being dunked in carb cleaner
- Being covered in brake fluid
- Being sprayed off with Brakleen after being covered in brake fluid
The pivot has never loosened, the grips are still intact, and they still cut well. These do their job (and clearly others) better than any small cutters I've used. Buy one, or five.

Reviewed in Mexico on May 18, 2018Size: Pack 1Style: CutterVerified Purchase

Las he utilizado poco
Reviewed in Mexico on June 15, 2019Size: Pack 1Style: CutterVerified Purchase

They cut
Reviewed in Canada on June 3, 2020Size: Pack 1Style: CutterVerified Purchase
I bought these to add to my wiring kit. They are not as sharp as some others say unless I received them but they missed quality control. They barely cut a 7inch wire tie. Had to use a lot of force to get them to cut. I am sure there are better flush cut cutters but for what you get for the price they are reasonable. Overall I would not buy them again because they were not as sharp as other reviewers claimed they were. But value for money they are alright I guess. Personally I would spend a little more money and get better flush cut cutters.
