The facial massage roller has the conventional design form, with modern, medical grade stainless steel composition. This massage implement is well designed, with sturdy aspects (note that this solid build aspect results in a bit of heft, mostly evident at the large roller end). I am particularly fond of the support arms, which offer robust support of the metal rollers (especially the larger roller). They obviously employ some bearing mechanism, because the roller operates in a quiet and smooth manner. This massage roller has a premium quality appearance and function.
The Gua Sha is a bit smaller than expected. It has interesting attributes, with design upgrades. The shape is akin to a modified heart shape gua sha. It adds a ball tip to accentuate acupressure techniques and applications. There is an indent/concave area in the center of the gua sha, which facilitates a good grip. Similar to the facial massage roller, it is visually appealing. Also, it is composed of the same quality medical grade stainless steel.
Examination of these two steel tools found no defects or flaws, no scratches or nicks. The surfaces are exceptional, with smooth edges and surfaces.
This is the first gua sha set to included a facial dry brush, that I’ve encountered. For those unfamiliar with a facial dry brush and it’s utility: “facial dry brushes are used on dry skin after cleansing to exfoliate and boost circulation and lymphatic drainage, helping to depuff and define the face. Similar to body brushing, it sweeps away dead skin cells so gently that it's suitable for sensitive skin, too.” (Online reference). “Skin flakes that result from dry skin can clog your pores and cause itching. Dry brushing gets rid of skin flakes and dead skin cells that could otherwise cause clogged pores. For this reason, dry brushing your face may work to prevent acne breakouts” (Online reference)
So, if you’re making efforts to optimize the appearance and health of your facial skin, the addition of the dry brush makes sense. And, this seems like a good quality facial dry brush.
