Great enclosure for my chickens. Definitely no room for error when putting up the wire fencing material. Otherwise, the framing was pretty easy to put together. Height is perfect also.

    The rods are not as large as or as strong as my previously bought chicken run, but it still is well made and serves the purpose for our chickens!!
    No missing parts and easy assembly for 2people

    Love this. If you are looking for a simple enclosure for animals. This is it. Lots of hands on. I found it’s easier to tip it on its side then put chicken wire on and zip tight. Unless you are over 6 foot. Otherwise your arms get tired. Becareful how tight you pull the wire on the side with the door as it can slip and then you have to adjust it because your door won’t stay closed. So excited to put my chickens in.

    OK so this is something that I have to write a review for only because this has been a JOURNEY, y’all.

    I would say that I’m not a very handy person but between me and my partner we were able to get this done within two days - probably could have condensed it down to one very long day but that required a lot of patience, which when you’re working with your partner one simply may not always have!

    The pros of the coop is that it is a good size. My girls love it. I have four chickens right now with the possibility of two more in the future. The other pro is that it is budget friendly which if you’re like me is very important. It can be difficult because you want security but obtaining that with a certain budget in mind can be difficult unless you know how to build a coop from scratch. Unfortunately I had to go this route which does create a safety issue if you live in the forest like I do.
    Moving onto the cons it is a bit longer but again when you’re looking to save money I imagine the list is going to be longer. One con is that the instructions can be challenging to understand. If you’re like me and you cannot even fathom IKEA furniture, having someone to help you not only to set up the thing but who knows how to read directions is ideal. The bummer part about the directions is that it does not include directions for the wiring on top of the roof. We did it a little ass backwards and ended up having to purchase some more wire… Which is not necessarily a bad thing because when I open the box and pulled out the wire I noticed the wire was a bit flimsy. The wire that they provide does not seem to be as durable as some of the other chicken wire that you can purchase at Home Depot. Then again using chicken wire is not ideal for chicken coops but when it comes to money, it does the job. When applying the wire to the roof make sure you measure everything properly and drape it over from one end over the roof to the other side of the coop. Be also prepared to buy twice as many zip ties because again this is your only form of security when securing down the wire to the frame. I probably applied over 1000 zip ties because I was very concerned about the possibility of a raccoon ripping open the coop with their nasty little hands. I was also able to extend about 5 to 10 inches of extra wire off of the frame on the floor so that it discouraged any critters from digging. I then applied cinder blocks all the way around the entire coop to secure the wire to the ground and to add extra durability because I don’t want anything trying to dig under. We had our first rain here and I applied the tarp but it did collect rain in the center (if you have the coop that is labeled “flat“ where the ceiling is flat in the center but arches on the sides.) Because the wiring is not as durable as mentioned above I did spend about 20 minutes pushing rainwater off the center of the roof as I did not want it pulling any further on to the wiring and stressing the zip ties. Unfortunately I will have to build a roof for it, so if you have rain or snow then this would be the best course to keep the girls dry. Overall I would say this is a pretty decent coop for the money as long as you are prepared to do some MacGyvering for in-depth safety, have a minimal budget and are prepared to build a roof because the tarp does NOT cut it. Hope this helps!

    JAN 2, 2024 UPDATE-
    So the coop is still here and it’s held up. Nothing has gotten in- say for several rats that like to come and go. That is not ideal-rats and wild birds can be bad for chickens. But I don’t like how I have not been able to keep the water out. We have had insane rain during the California winters and this poor coop tends to get drenched. Come spring time I will rip it all out (sigh) and replace it with a coop that has a better roof. I tried to secure one on but using repurposed corrugated panels, it made it too dark for my girls. I didn’t use the clear as I was worried it would get too hot. No winning in this situation but using the left over wire should be good? Anyways, I’m a couple hundred dollars In- next time just purchase something that looks more hardy and built for chickens. Definite learning experience!

    FINAL UPDATE- January 25th 2024

    Y’all- don’t buy this. I hate to say it- it honestly sucks. The amount of time and energy we have put in to make this thing dry for the girls, is unreal. And it’s nowhere dry. Really, everything just gets wet, even with the corrugated roofing we threw on there. That combined with rats and birds sneaking in- it’s a nightmare. Also- wild birds can transmit disease to your flock as well as rats can bring mites. Haven’t had that problem yet.
    This spring we will be taking down the coop and transferring our five hens to another coop I had professionally built by a local carpenter. We have 8 hens in there now so everyone is just gonna have to get along. I figured if the average person saved 50$ a week for a month that’s 200$ and then within a years time you should have 2,400$. Do that and get yourself a nice coop, because this ain’t it.

    UPDATE: It's been exactly 1 year since we have been using this coop. The "UV resistant" tarp has NOT weathered the sun (literally). The side of the tarp that gets the most sun has disintegrated. It's in pieces...falling apart not because of tears, but because of the sun. So, keep this in mind. You'll be needing another tarp after one year.

    We bought this to protect our chickens from hawks during the day. We have a smaller coop that sits in the inside for them to go into at night. So far it's been exactly what we were hoping for. Assembling is a great Saturday morning family project. You can talk to your kids about basic math-concepts, trouble shooting, patience, teamwork, and cooperation. We approached it like a puzzle.

    It came in 2 boxes...and I recommend laying all the parts out. Some parts are labeled with letters and some with numbers which gets a bit mind boggling. HEADS UP pertaining to my "trouble-shooting" comment above: If you follow the diagram, your 3's (first vertical poles) are not going to mesh up with the D's and H's holes (corners that bend for the coop's top pieces). Move your E1 and E2 corners to the opposite corners shown. That will fix it.

    My overall thought on the labeling of parts and the diagrams are that they are simple but also somewhat confusing. You have everything you need though...for a pretty good price and very reasonable quality. You can't rush thru assembling. Also, the chicken wire process is not explained. You can clip the pieces of the green wire (labeled "O") or put the coop on cinder blocks, twist-tie at the ends and middle of the bottom pole, and then feed the wire (like stitching) around the bottom horizontal pole and thru the chicken wire. It's quicker...but again, if you are trying to remain calm, give yourself plenty of time and a few extra hands.

    The product itself is good...but it all could have been written better.

The photos also have the wire mesh that must be wrapped around the coop by hand painted silver to make it appear as if it’s chain link rather than mesh so it’s very deceiving when you get a paper thin chicken wire mesh that predators can easily break through if they tried. Waste of a $100, not worth the price if you can invest that money into something better. You’re probably better off buying a hutch instead. The instructions are all photos and have no words and are hard to read. The instructions also make it appear like the mesh panels are precut and ready for attachment to the framing but you have to cut them to shape yourself and zip tie them to framing. All in all, the only thing this coop will protect your small animals from is birds of prey. Will add more photos later, but i promise don’t waste your money
