#1 Seller for a Reason!!

I LOVE MuckBoots. I worked in shoe retail last year and they are a #1 seller for cold Maine winters for a reason. They are durable, rugged, extremely warm. We had a customer come in buying this Arctic Sport model that is warm to -40ºF and they were the only pair of boots he wore as he trekked across Alaska in the winter. They are completely water proof, the neoprene that the top is made out of is what scuba suits are made out of so it's built with quality, and warmth in mind.
Since they come in whole sizes and it's always best to have at least a thumb's width between the tip of the boot and the tip of your toes, with socks on, I went with a size 7 even though I wear 6 1/2 in shoes. You'd think that since they come only whole sized, that a 6 would cover the 6/12 range but you want that extra room in any winter boot so that you can layer socks if you want to, but most importantly bc if your toe touches the end of a boot you will get cold a lot faster bc you need that extra room to let the air circulate the heat around your foot. Circulation of blood is also something that helps keep you warm too and it can't do that if your foot is constricted.
I am so pleased that I went with the 7. The footbed is extremely comfortable and when I put them on I felt instant heat. If you want to make a good decision today, get these for winter. Invest in your feet, it's worth it. I love these boots!

I bought two sizes to decide which fit better

I am a woman who wears a 9 in women's and an 8 in men's. I bought the men's 8 and put my ortho insoles inside since I figured I'd need them. I'm going to Antarctica so I have only worn the boots clomping around the house. The rental boots for the trip suggested that anyone with a high arch or instep would not want to rent. So since I have that, I decided to buy. With my orth insert, I had no problem with getting my feet inside wearing a thick sock. The 8 in men's fit me about the same as a regular man's 8, though I wear the extra wide in men's 8 due to bunions. These seemed okay with the width, but not having worn them on a hike over antarctic snow, I can't be sure, but I would say you need not go up a size if you wear a size like 8. I don't know about half sizes. I hope this helped.

I also bought the 9 in men's and it was too big. My foot slipped forward and back.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas. I gave them to him a little early due to all of the snow we've been getting. He is astounded by how warm his feet stay in them. He's worn them daily for the last few weeks. He's been snowmobiling in 3 degree weather and his feet were toasty, he's shoveled the driveway and taken numerous walks in the fields with our dog. He is certainly pleased with comfort, warmness and looks.

My SO ordered thwm, and swore they were great... They are warm, comfortable and waterproof. They are easy to get in and out of (the neoprene folds easily so that your pants don't get pushed all the way up... But they are way too big. I wear a 10.5 or 11 in everything and so ordered an 11. They could easily accomodate two pairs of thick socks. I kept them but stuffed a few flat insoles in so that I could wear them with a single pair of normal socks. If I buy another pair I shall round down... and I probably will order another pair when these wear out or for other purposes.

I just received these boots but no snow yet. the first thing I noticed was that I received a size 12 instead of 11. I decided I'd try them on anyway. I stopped after the first boot. It was very difficult to get on because of the height. It turns out the larger size would have worked for me because of the swelling in my feet. As difficult as it was to get this boot on (they should put some loops on the sides to be able to pull on to get on), it is even more difficult to get off. They need something on the back bottom of the boot to be able to step on to be able to get out of it. I am still wearing the boot and have to go to one of my neighbors to help me get it off. I am older, somewhat handicapped but not completely and I can't properly use these boots. It's just too hard to be worth it. Other than that, they seem like they could be a good boot, for someone who can get in and out of them.

these are amazing in the cold, they suck in the heat. bought them for hunting out west, and the weather can vary quite a bit. so when it warms up they are overkill. i would highly recommend following the temperature rating, otherwise you will be sweating. that being said, these are great to hike in, they offer a ton of protection from sage, and oak brush, and cactus. been up to my knees in snow, ice, and mud and they have never let me down

The boots themselves are fine boots. They're not super cute or anything; I was more concerned with getting boots that looked like they could handle Chicago winters. I got these last winter and I haven't been cold in them yet, but it does seem like they're not as waterproof as they could be. I felt cold stepping into puddles or slush.

They could also really benefit from half sizes. I got size ten at first and they were too big, so I swapped for nines. They're too small now and they're tight in my toes. I can deal with it but you definitely couldn't layer socks or wear anything too thick with them. I guess just go a size up and walk goofy instead.

Boots are leaving and more than one place. Contacted Muck Boot who have said that their warranty isn’t valid as I didn’t buy with them directly, even though it’s a manufacturing issue!

These boots are the most comfortable dog walking boots I've ever had! my feet are warm, able to move and supported at same time. I broke my foot badly and struggle to walk far but these have changed my experience... the cushion my foot well and give me room for thicker socks so theres no pressure on my feet but somehow they also feel supported. I tried a different style of muck boot but felt they were pressing on top of my foot so these were the best for me. After reading other reviews I was worried about them slipping on pavements but ive been fine! I do walks in grass, mud, puddles, pouring rain, and on slippery leaves and all has been fine. They're amazing in the mud really grip the ground. I can imagine on stones when slippery or slimy then maybe not so good but we cant have it all. And these are definitely keeping my feet warm but not sweaty. Wish all shoes felt like this. Will definitely buy again

These wellies look impressive and expensive. Not quite as comfortable to dog walk in as I had hoped from previous neoprene wellies I’ve had but they are sturdy with a good grip. I have a 17” wide calf and these were very tight on. I did check the comments re. Wide calf fitting and the general consensus was they should fit. I’m now dieting in order to thin down my legs to get them to fit. No bad thing. I have wide feet, size 5 1/2 but always take a 6. The width is perfect and they are a proper 6. I could do with wearing thick socks with them but until my calves shrink that can’t happen. All in all a high end wellington boot, warm, dry (went for a paddle in the sea) and likely to be more comfortable for a 15” or less calve.

Yes they're comfortable, warm and waterproof and great in the mud and can't fault them on build quality but what many of the other reviews don't mention, and maybe it's just my pair, is that they have virtually no grip on hard wet surfaces such as wet rock, tarmac and paving slabs. I can happily skate along as if on ice when on wet tar or slate. If you're expecting to be able to walk absolutely anywhere with confidence then look at other sole types. Maybe they get more grippy as they ware down a bit?
