Hot, suspenseful and captivating alien romance

I loved Lia and Torst’s alien-human with a side of kidnapping and being hunted for sport romantic suspense tale. It was definitely a stay up too late, cannot put it down kind of book. The story was well written and included good world building, witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. Lia is a human woman who works as a security office for the Empire. Her transport ship is attacked and all the females are taken by slavers and brought to the entertainment moons around the planet Xulan. Torst is a Taori warrior whose spaceship goes through a temporal wormhole and ends up in Xulan airspace where they are promptly attacked. His escape pod ends up on the same entertainment moon as Lia. Torst saves Lia from the hunters on the moon but is soon gripped with mating fever and she saves him right back. Thus begins Lia and Torst’s exciting, intense, and surprising journey to their HEA. The story includes all the goodness that you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, evil actors, loyal friends, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, mystery, and laughs. I love a book with a sexy alpha hero but I especially love one that includes a sexy, smart heroine as well rather than a damsel in distress. And Lia, though she be little she is fierce. I will definitely be reading more of this series.

My only complaint & -⭐️ is imo only, extraneous fill-in bits (maybe author is world building but too much unnecessary paragraphs for me) in several chapters which had me skipping many paragraphs-(only once did I have to go back & find answers) but sequencing was still spot on. The MMC/fmc were great together including the spicy 🌶️ scenes & his wording calling the fmc from potential death almost had me in tears-simply loved the exchange. Going to download next in series hoping not for all the wordy fluff but anxious see how this world plays out. Def a good book for a rainy or beach day.

I was in the fence on this one for the first few chapters but it was setting up the background for the story. Then I feel in love with the strong, funny, and stubborn main female character. She partnered with Torst to survive being hunted for sport by rich aliens. Not to mention the mating fever Torst is battling. Yes we do see some spice - alpha male, a little praise, over the top possessive. Read it in one sitting and I cannot wait to read the next one.

A cruel race who pay others to bring beings to their three moons, to become prey for hunters, sex slaves for deviants or pawns in games as the elite Xulonians pay to send their avatars to be part of the hunt or watch as the captives are ravaged and killed.
Lia was a security officer protecting an imperial transport of scientists when they were attacked and boarded by pirates, intent on capturing the females to sell to the Xulonians for their pleasure. But they had to deviate from their mission when one of their crew mates fell under age old curse. His people suffered from a mating curse that caused them to burn for a a female, go crazy in a short time if one can not be found and finally become a monster. Sidetracked in search of a pleasure world for Daiken, suffering from the mating fever, when they were drawn hundreds of years into the future right into the path of the Xulonian world. Many escaped from the burning ship in escape pods, but is it only Torst who lands on the hunting moon with Lia and Val? Torst is in hopes that at least one other of his people followed him down to the moon.
Torst and Lia will struggle to come together to fight off the Xulonian avatars and find Val when she goes missing. In their search they find other beings, survivors of past enslavement. But when Torst, realizes the their travel through time has sped up his mating fever will Lia be able to bring herself to help him?
There is action, terror, death and steamy romance to be found here. Along with a story that drew me in, even as it left questions that were only answered in part. I found the characters to be ones I could follow, the storyline interesting, with not all the problems solved by the end. If you don’t mind romance among the stars with mixed species, and some gritty sex scenes the storyline s a quick read that didn’t have to drag me along. I was with them all the way, in others words the angst wasn’t killing me. It also made me curious to learn more about the stories behind these people and their worlds, as well as what happened to others on the transport and battleship and what will happen.

Although I’d think twice about heating the sheets with him and his monstrous three crowned…thing. There was plenty of hunt action with first arrows then lasers.
