Great way to mark cables with identifiers. Write info on the tab with a Sharpie. Five colors, so you can get creative for use on things like home sound systems with lots of inputs/outputs These ties are small, not designed for physical strength. Large enough to place around bundles of wire or cables.
Vastly superior to trying to make tags from masking tape! Grab a tie, write something on the tab, and cinch onto the cable. Easy-peasy..
NOTE: These are a latter-day version of cable markers once sold by Radio Shack. Those had one advantage: the writing surface on the tab was white and would accept pencil or ballpoint.
DOWNSIDE:
1.The tabs are the same color as the rest of the tab, and require a "Sharpie" style marker. Pencil or ballpoint won't work.
2. Only black plastic cable ties are pretty reisistant to degradation by solar UV exposure. These are likely to deteriorate over time in direct sun. I have not tested for that.
