Although Elizabeth died giving birth to her daughter, her death wasn’t the end. She awakens to find her sacrifice has transformed her into a special kind of angel—a protector—and if she is able to help her charge through the Pearly Gates, she too will be welcomed into Heaven.
Elizabeth is both heartbroken and overjoyed when she finds she’ll be watching over Daisy, the daughter she never got to meet. She’d like nothing more than to live with her little girl in paradise, but being a guardian angel is hard work.
Will Elizabeth be reunited with her daughter, or forced to suffer in silence as she watches Daisy make mistakes that place her just out of Heaven’s reach?
Penned by a New York Times bestselling author, A Mother’s Love weaves a beautifully felt tale of sacrifice, redemption, and unyielding love for anyone who believes in angels—or is looking for a reason to believe.

About the author

Melissa Storm loves a good cry. She believes, that whether happy or sad, tears have a way of cleansing the soul. Perhaps that's why her books have been known to make readers grab the nearest box of tissues and clutch it tight while visiting her fictional worlds. Hey, happily ever afters mean that much more when they're hard won, right?
As a New York Times and multiple USA Today bestselling author, Melissa is always juggling at least half a dozen new story ideas at any given time. She is married to fellow author Falcon Storm, mom to a precocious human princess, and keeper to an entire domestic zoo full of very spoiled cats and canines.
Are you ready to ride this emotional roller coaster? Just turn that first page, and hang on tight!

Part I
Elizabeth is about to give birth to a baby and knows that something is wrong. Her husband Theo races her to the hospital and she is able to give birth to a baby girl, but dies during childbirth.
Elizabeth is greeted by Peter who now explains that Elizabeth has been turned into a protector angel and will look watch out for Daisy, her infant daughter.
This was a good glimpse into what is to come and the explanation between angels and Pearls in Heaven.
Part II
In the second book Elizabeth deals with watching Daisy grow without being there for her and sees Theo struggling with being a single dad.
As time progresses Elizabeth must watch Daisy and Theo move on without her, which is so difficult for her.
This part was pretty sad as Elizabeth had to watch Theo struggle and couldn't be there for him or her daughter. I could never imagine watching your child grow up yet never being able to hold them.
Part III
In this story Elizabeth struggles with the bad choices that Daisy is making and wants her to make the right choices so they can be together one day.
Will Daisy learn from her mistakes or will Elizabeth feel as though she has failed her?
Elizabeth really struggles in this one as she knows she can't guide Daisy but she wants to be with her so much that she is trying to alter "the plan".
Part IV
Elizabeth has learned what Daisy's fate is going to be and is not happy with it at all.
Daisy has moved onto the world of dating and Elizabeth couldn't be more disappointed with her choice of boyfriends.
I couldn't imagine knowing what fate has in store and not being able to do anything about it!!
Part V
Elizabeth is powerless to stop what is coming but she doesn't give up trying.
Daisy has no idea what life with Victor Larsen entails and is puzzled over his mother, Mrs.Larsen's control over her and the lack of freedom she is given.
Then in a moment a wrong decision impacts everyone.
This story was so heartbreaking and I couldn't imagine being so powerless, as Elizabeth was.
Part VI
Elizabeth feels as though she has failed but has been given a second chance with Floramaria but it appears to Elizabeth that Floramaria has not forgotten where she came from.
This story is about new beginnings but you know something big is going to happen!!
Part VII
Elizabeth seems to have all the other protector angels mad at her when Floramina remembers her past and throws the present for a total loop, affecting everyone involved.
The tension in this book is building and the outlook does not seem favorable for anyone!
Part VIII
When it is clear that Floramina will not back down from what she believes to be the truth, others around her are afraid. She must make a decision that will impact everyone, yet she is confident that she will be ok.
Peter blames Elizabeth for interfering and causing so much harm to everyone involved.
Part IX
Floramina has been making quite the name for herself but when Elizabeth saves her life a decision to go to the clinic will change everything for the future.
This one is sad as you know what's going to happen and you know how hard Elizabeth is working to make sure that everything turns out the way she wants it to.
Part X
There is definitely tension in this book as Floramina and Elizabeth have different ways they want things handled. Floramina feels as though she has failed as a daughter yet a meeting with her mom may change everything.
Forgiveness is the key.
Peter's Story
When Peter met Mary in 1826 he knew instantly that they would marry and she would be the love of his life.
Yet when a storm hits one night Peter had to figure out what was the most important sacrifice of all
Angels In Our Lives
Emily Bloom's life has taken a drastic turn after her and her mom have been involved in a car accident that has left her with a damaged spine.
Her protector angel believes she can support Emily the best if she is by her side in the form of a dog named Lulu.
Lulu helps Emily turn into the person she is meant to be, giving her the strength that she needs to get better.
A beautiful story on the strength we can get from the animals around us and the strength we get from ourselves in our darkest times.
Elizabeth (an angel) tries to be Daisy’s conscience. Will she succeed? There is a lot of sorrow and frustration, but also hope and love. Elizabeth is questioning everything, like why can’t she stop bad things from happening? And why do bad things happen to good people? Good question. We all want life to be fair. But Elizabeth does get some answers. You live you learn, but in this case: you die you learn.
The personal note from the author at the beginning was beautiful. Full of meaning and depth. Moving. Like the whole book was moving. With a wonderful ending.
This collection consists of 10 fragments of Elizabeth’s afterlife, 2 extras that are connected to that and one separate short story, Angels in our lives. The 10 fragments do feel fragmented. What I mean by that: it all goes very fast, sometimes I feel the jumps that are made in time are too big.
But this collection definitely made an impression. The message is LOVE.
One tip: please put the reader’s guide (quote: ‘to better understand this world, you’ll need a few quick definitions first’) in the front of this collection! Now it’s in the back of the book and the explanations are too little too late…
