I built a small table to the wheel on and am sitting in a banana chair and it works great. I was glad I discovered this wheel because all other options were way too expensive.
There are a lot of YouTube reviews online in the last few months. If you have never had a wheel before, like me, it's all great. It was well worth the price and with Game Pass on the Xbox it's a no-brainer.

There are a lot of YouTube reviews online in the last few months. If you have never had a wheel before, like me, it's all great. It was well worth the price and with Game Pass on the Xbox it's a no-brainer.

The pedals feel good, with nice resistance, and the wheel has good resistance and feedback. I'd say I can't always feel the small bumps especially on straight lines, the way I would on a real car, and the wheel is smaller than a real car, but other then that it's all so smooth.
From my research, it's better than a Logitech G29, since it's got more torque which makes the force feedback better, and it's pedals are better. The downside is you can't swap wheels, which I don't really plan to do anyways.
For 260$, which is what I paid, and I saw the G29 was available at 200$, it still feels like that extra 60$ was worth it. And overall I was able to get the T248 and a GT Omega stand for 400$ total, at that price it was worth every penny and I'd really recommend people who want to get into a racing wheel to start with this, it's good enough to hook you and get you into racing.
Worth nothing, I'm not super into racing games normally, but this wheel is game changer, it's so much more fun to drive with it.
Now I'm just hoping GT7 gets PSVR2 support!
Pros:
- I really love the pedals. They work great and, in my opinion, look great.
- I like the feel of the wheel. The wrapped wheel makes if feel closer to the wheel in my personal vehicle.
- There are plenty of buttons to program. I've had the chance to mess around with this and really love having so many to set up the way I like it.
- Being my first wheel, I really like the force feedback. You can make some adjustments to how strong it is, though in GT7, I usually use this method. But I can say this, with it adjusted up pretty high, you can feel just about everything in the game. Example: When the car begins to get a little loose on the turns, I can start to feel it as it is happening.
Cons:
- I do not like that you have to unplug everything and hook to a PC to update. It would be nice to be able to run updates on the hardware through your PS5.
- Setup was not as easy as I expected. It took an update and some messing with the setting through the wheel before it would work with GT7.
- Not all games are compatible with this wheel. While this really isn't really Thrustmaster's fault, it is disappointing that other games, such as Need For Speed Hot Pursuit or Hot Wheels Unleashed are not supported. Be sure to check your games for compatibility with racing wheels before purchasing.
- The brake pedal is super stiff, even with the softest spring. If you are using this on anything but a stand, be ready to have it start slipping away from you after a while. This was the worst part about the pedals. You pretty much want a mount for this, or you will constantly be trying to hold it in place with something.
- I'm not a fan of the built in menus. I started to get really frustrated trying to figure out how to make adjustments
- Paddle shifters are way too noisy. Be ready to wake up the house when using them. I plan to get a shifter to avoid dealing with them. It is too bad too. I had a car that had them and loved being able to shift on the wheel. The noise from the paddles are just unbearable in my opinion.
My overall opinion is this: if you want a decent setup and do not mind dropping around $400, then this might be for you. Would I purchase these again? Maybe, but I am not quite as happy with them as I had really hoped I would be. These have worked for the intended purpose and has made the one racing game I love much easier and immersive, but for the price, I think that it was a bit high for some of the flaws that are in this setup

pro:
-decent FFB
-easy setup
cons:
-cheap plastic feel of the wheel and assembly
-the pedals have to be bolted down, trying to press the brake without doing so will make the whole thing flip over.
This thing should be $300 but I guess the chip shortage adds another $200?

With the update you get to tame this monster for use with GTS. Now, AC, PC2 were no problem, using the 1.77 FW. It seems to be only GTurismo where the wheel misbehaves. I am afraid i might have damaged something in the wheel. But, after the download, GTS and the wheel seem to get along. Somewhat so! I now get a growl when i oversteer but not the terrible grinding as it was before.
That said, this is a good wheel, though not worth half a grand! IMHO
Don't worry that much of the wheel is plastic as today's quality resins and plastics are robust. Loud shifters is not a big problem as there are ways to grasp and release that muffles the "clacking" sound. Besides, this is a very minor annoyance. The major annoyance is stated above
Pedals are great. If you like to rest your left foot on the brake pedal, you might want to use the black spring as this spring (black) is stiff enuf to ignore involuntary activation of the brake -- Personal choice. Very nice clutch action.
UPDATE:
Despite the initial round of bone-jarring grinding and wrist-dislocating madness (only), when driving in Gran Turismo Sport (ps4), I have come to rather like this wheel. I will give it another star. I reiterate that it is imperative that one gets to a Windows 10 PC, to download firmware (2.0) upgrade before playing Gran Turismo Sport. This update offers the reins to tame this wild-horse wheel. I set all applicable FFB controls to zero effect, and creep up until adequate. With Assetto Corsa, the wheel behaves wonderfully. PC2 okay as well. It is still only GTS where there is some growling when oversteering a corner. But no more bronco rides.
The brakes are great. I will soon want to install the stiffer, black spring. In the stiffest configuration, I can rest my foot on the brake. Very responsive. I add a touch of deadzone to make darned sure I don't handicap myself by racing with the bleedin' brake partially engaged. As for the pedal platform, the weight inside is free to slide, presumably to set for best stability. No complaints here. Thick wad of heavy, super sticky (2-sided) duct tape holds the back down. My heel weight also serves to maintain stability.
.
To encode a function go to sim's mapping (in assetto corsa competizione -- as example) section and on the left side encoder, toggle up to choose one of the four choices. Pushing toggle up cycles through each of the four. Say you chose 1, and want to map to say ABS. Scroll to say ABS increase, and push cross button on wheel (using ps4) . Then toggle left encoder DOWN. This will map encoderbutton 1 to that function. Easier to do than explain.
