The build up was insane, the teasing, flirting, hot little moments, and back and forth. Chefs kiss. Julep and Holden were made for each other. Two tragic pasts, two wounded souls, but the way they came alive together. It was beautiful.

Holden Moore, star quarterback for the North Boston University, good looking guy as well as a heart of gold, this guy was all around amazing. Holden had always had his sights set on football, and with the dream of making it in the first round drafts of the NFL, he had a lot riding on his future. Until one day, when meeting the team’s new head coach, in came along a mysterious, beautiful young woman by the name of, Julep Lee. Oh, did I forget to mention that her dad Coach Lee was Holden’s new coach? Oops. Seemed like Holden wasn’t going to be able to get near Julep since Coach made it extremely clear no one was to date his daughter… forbidden romance, coach’s daughter, reverse grumpy/sunshine, and more! Kandi Steiner knows how to teach us readers to a fantastic time!

Back in the football college universe that Kandi Steiner has created, I got to see more of Holden (obviously) and of course some familiar faces like Zeke, Riley, Clay, Giana, more! I love all the characters and seeing them all together just makes the experience even better. Not to mention seeing how Giana and Riley tried befriending Julep so it was like another another girl to the group. So along with the storyline, just seeing everyone from past characters, to new ones that I’m pretty sure will be the next couple in the interconnected series, I’m curious to see what will see next.

With Holden being team captain, he was use to being in charge with his team mates and even off the field he was always focused on school and football in general. Julep coming into the picture changed things for Holden because, one not only was Holden attracted to Julep, but for the first time he was thinking about things, ahem a specific somebody besides football. Holden found himself flirting with Julep and loved pushing her buttons to get a reaction out of her, and honestly I loved seeing the playful come out of Holden. Holden was charming, flirty, dreamy, and just an amazing guy. Too bad for Holden that Julep was off limits and it seemed like she wasn’t going to give him the time of day… at least that’s how it was in the beginning.

Julep was the type of character I immediately was intrigued by, especially with the way, “Blind Side” ended I was waiting for this book to come out! Based off the first few chapters, it was clear that Julep had her own share of darkness and tragedy that she went through. With the loss of her sister, Julep mentioned (in her chapters) that her sister passed away due to one night of them taking drugs. That night changed not only Julep’s life, but also her family’s. Julep had been a bit of a lone wolf after the passing of her sister, just going through the motions of life just to go by and assure her parents that she wasn’t going to revert back to her rebellious stage that she had once grown through. Part of Julep’s way of de-stressing and doing something for herself as doing pole dancing. I actually found it very fascinating and empowering that Julep did pole dancing, and ironically enough I’ve also been very interested to try it myself since I’ve seen a few people give it a go. I liked the meaning behind why Julep enjoyed pole dancing and it made me appreciate that part of her even more. Julep was all around kind of grumpy, sassy, independent, strong, and admirable.

Holden and Julep had great chemistry as well as that building tension between them from the beginning of the story. I couldn’t get over it! With Holden occasionally being flirty around Julep, she then couldn’t help herself with teasing him back. For instance, the scene where Holden stumbled upon Julep pole dancing one night from across the window, he couldn’t help watching her, but then Julep gave Holden a little peek at her… goodies we shall say, and OMG! Julep was not only confident, but I loved how she then closed the blinds from her window and texted him, “Goodnight, Cap.” Personally I found that as a boss move, low key Julep letting Holden know that she can be playful and teasing as well.

The spice in this book immaculate! I’ll never picture a hotel pool without thinking back to what Holden and Julep got up to during their stay at a hotel for the away game. Julep and Holden were confident in themselves individually, but once they got together and had their own sexy time, OMG! FIRE EVERYWHERE! RING THE ALARM BECAUSE IT WAS STEAMY AND SEXY UP IN THIS BOOK! WOO! Holden to me, was usually seen as the golden boy, but the way that man asserted his dominance over Julep when they were in the closet at the hotel was HOT! AMAZING! And simply put, not only was Julep the one taking back her words of saying she’d never kneel for anyone, but… HOLDEN I’LL KNEEL FOR YOU TOO!! Obviously there’s more spice along the story, but I don’t wanna give away all the fun, so you gotta read it for yourself *wink. Now that I think about, this had some of the best spice I’ve ever in a while but then again the way Kandi writes her stories she always amazes me. Plus the more I read, the more I got to see just how much Holden and Julep truly couldn’t keep their hands off each other. The raw desire and passionate between Julep and Holden was off the charts, and again this book had me seeing multiple different spicy scenes and simply put… the scenes were creative *fanning myself profusely! With the forbidden aspect playing into Holden and Julep’s story, it added a level of them trying to maintain secrecy, and I’m sure they felt it was kind of hot to sneak around, and see where they could find time to squeeze in sexy time together.

While this book was sexy, fun, and lighthearted, there were also some heavy topics mentioned in the story such as, the loss of a family member and suicide. Both Julep and Holden were no strangers when it came to losing a loved one. For Julep, it was losing her sister, and for Holden it was his parents and sister. Each struggled in their own ways after losing part of their families and in some ways, it was still an obstacle they faced in the story. Julep had made strong strides to move forward in her life, and reassure her dad that she wouldn’t end up in worse condition like she previously was after the passing of her sister. Julep’s grief was an ongoing thing and it broke my heart to see her feel anxious and think of herself in a certain light. I’m glad that Julep had Holden not only in a romantic aspect, but also as a support system to be there for her, and comfort her. In addition, I really loved seeing Julep become friends with Mary, Riley, and Giana as they became an extension of her support system, and also her friends since she didn’t have much of a reliable, loyal group of friends in what seemed like a long time.

My goodness this was such a whirlwind of a rollercoaster from the highs and lows, laughs, and tears, Kandi Steiner brought so many amazing things to Julep and Holden’s story. There were so many wonderful things about this book that yet again I cannot get over. This was one of those books that even after reading, I was going over different scenes and just simply feeling amazed! Julep was such a multilayered character with depth and her backstory was heartbreaking. Julep managed to find her way along the story from building back up a relationship with her parents, to finding love with Holden. Again seeing all the characters from the previous books made me so happy! Holden and Julep were phenomenal, and let me just say the spice in this book was fantastic, jaw dropping good, and made my heart rate go quicker than normal. The ending and epilogue’s were chef’s kiss, and I’m just so overjoyed to see that Holden and Julep ended on a VERY HEARTWARMING AND ROMANTIC NOTE! Plus the second epilogue has me SO EXCITED TO SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT WITH LEO AND MARY’S STORY! OMG! I CAN’T WAIT! Do yourself a favor and read this book as well as the other books in this interconnected series!

Quarterback Sneak is a solid addition to this series. While this was not my favorite I still really loved it. I will say that there were parts of it that were heavier than I was expecting (definitely check those TW), but this book was still just as steamy, fun, and intriguing as the other two. I really loved both MC and love that we get so much of the MC from the other two books, and we get to see how the next book is getting set up.

I couldn’t possibly love this series any more than I do. Author Kandi Steiner Is one of those authors I immediately one-click. ANYTHING she writes. I don’t even need to read the blurb first. I know I’m going to love it. I don’t think I have ever rated any of her works less than a four star. Pretty sure I would darn near give one of my pinky toes to be granted the privilege to ARC read her grocery list. Lol But really, If you are anything like me then you love a good college/new adult, sports, forbidden (quarterback & coach’s daughter), forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, secret romance. What you will find even more appetizing here is the way this author flips the trope script on you and you get anything but the typical in some of these tropes. Trust me, you definitely don’t have to worry that you’ve read this story before. Because you HAVEN’T!
Holden and Julep were unexpectedly everything I didn’t know I needed and SO.MUCH.MORE!

HOLY HOT HADES! Two words ladies. Holden.Moore. The little tidbits we’ve got of our captivating captain in the previous books could never have prepared my heart for a whole book of Holden. Very focused and together, he’s got one thing on his mind, football. Pretty planned out for smooth sailing right on through his senior year. But what he couldn’t have planned out in any playbook, was being flipped right on his fanny by none other than the coach’s daughter, in all her delicious forbidden glory.

Julep Lee has walls as high and tight as Ft. Knox up to keep people from getting close. No stranger to loss, it’s just best to not get close to people then you can’t lose them. Holden is someone and evokes feelings she never expected. His ability to cut down to the most vulnerable and terrified parts of her and meet her there, with an understanding only someone who knows pain like she has could. GAH. 🥺 The emotions in this book. In their story they discovered how to let things be and forgive themselves. They were able to look at life from a new perspective. That realization that you have found your person. The one who completes you, who gives you strength to let your guard down and truly be vulnerable with someone else. The complexity and depths to these characters. Their journey of finding love and a special bond over shared past traumatic experiences, and being able to share those with each other. A love so powerful and full of hope and healing in these sweet and tender moments. 🥰😍🥰

But as sweet as Holden was he had this amazingly alpha side that came out and it was hella hot y’all. Like a spark ready to ignite at any second they were just explosive. I’m talking about he smirks, the dimple comes out and panties go 💣 🩲POOF! 🩲💣💋 *Chef’s Kiss*💋 I mean we all know combustible undies at a smile and a wink equals a good day. Am I right?!😏

Quarterback Sneak is the third stand-alone book in the Red Zone Rivals series. While you do not have to read the other book in the series before reading this, there are appearances by couples from the previous books. Plus they are amazing stories, so I cannot recommend them enough, so I say read them anyway if you can. You will be so glad you did.

It is so obvious the careful thought she puts into the backstory of each and every unique character she creates. I can’t get enough. Especially her series. That is why she is at the top of my list of one of my favorite one-click authors!

He is laser focussed on winning and becoming a professional in the NFL and nothing will get in his way...Untik Julep, as soon as he locks eyes with her in the locker room he knows he's in trouble. Julep is studying at the college and transferred when her dad gets the coaches position We soon realise that Julep is struggling. She is haunted in ways that Holden can relate to. He finds a kinship in her.

I loved Holden and Julep together, their chemistry is on fire. I loved the way Holden brought the fire back to Julep. Two people have suffered so much loss and are total opposites, one has the attraction for life and the other is barely surviving. They are absolutely perfect for each other. The push and pull, will they won't they in the first half of the book had me on the edge of my seat, shouting just do it!!! Oh when they did it was straight up fire. I enjoyed seen the reparations of their issues and the whole finding a family was really touching.

If you like.. Sports romance, a secret relationship with the coaches daughter, Neighbours to lovers, he falls first, then this is the book you will love!!

I fell in love with Kandi's books from reading A Love Letter to Whiskey and from then I didn't seem to be able to stop reading her books. I have a few left but I am sat in anticipation for every new release. I love the journey you get taken on and the imagination and creativity she has. Cant wait for the next book in the series Hail Mary!!

There is no doubt about it, I absolutely LOVE kandi’s writing but unfortunately this one wasn’t my favourite.

There was certain elements of this story that I absolutely loved, and lots of memorable one liners. Some of Holden and Juleps banter was amazing and I found myself smiling at their cute moments and laughing at the banter. Some of the sexy scenes were amazing too, like the video scene and the one at the very end with the sofa 🥵 IYKYK! And not to mention the pool!

I also absolutely loved that Julep did pole dancing, to me that’s such a boss move so I was kind of disappointed that it wasn’t brought into the storyline more. I kind of felt like it was just randomly added so Holden could look at her. I would have loved to see something more in dept with the pole dancing because the way Kandi actually wrote about it was so empowering! But maybe that’s me nit picking for my own selfish wants lol

The physical side of their relationship was amazing. It was hot, passionate and just electric. However the other side of their relationship is where I think I was left wanting more. Something felt missing. I wasn’t sure at the very start why Holden actually liked Julep. He just instantly liked her. I didn’t feel that connection so I think that’s what threw off their relationship for me. I wanted to see a little more with that, maybe if I felt like he had legitimate reasons to like her the rest of their relationship would have fallen in to place perfectly.

As always Kandi’s actual writing and way with words is phenomenal, and even when I’m finding myself not enjoying the characters/plot as much like I did in this one, the book is still written to an incredibly high standard.

Overall I did really enjoy it, I just felt like the characters this time round didn’t really grip me the way the previous books have. But nonetheless it was still a good solid read. So if you’re wanting a story that’s well written and an easy read then you won’t be disappointed with this.

Holden definitely lived up to the hype!

The forbidden nature of their relationship really allowed for hot and steamy spice! I can't decide whether Holden or Clay is the best in the spice department!
I loved how Julep was wary about Holden, but with his flirting and multiple attempts to convince her, who could resist him?

With all forbidden relationships, it always leads to heartbreak and sadness, but it was delightful that it led to a beautiful ending! They both really deserve it after all the pain they have been through.

I loved the little tease of Leo and Mary, I'm guessing it's gonna be hot!

His life is centred around football until he sees Julep, the new coach's daughter. Julep is off limits to everyone but Holden finds he cannot stay away from her. The attraction between them is crazy and as they start to sneak about, can they find what they need together or will their relationship be the downfall of them both? This was a read based on tragedy and redemption, where the characters find solace and growth together. The chemistry is high and the battle to be together is fierce!

Its a college story so the story is really for teens as some of the antics are immature. Holden is the star QB and is very serious about his role in the team. Yes, he has fun but his game comes first and his team take direction from him. He meets Julip when her father becomes their new coach and he finds it impossible not to want her. They both have family that they have lost and it draws them together even though her father has told the whole team she is off limits. Her father threatens Holden when he finds out that they have been seeing each other and Holden knows he has to show her how important she is to him.
