Portable Laptop Charger
Long time charging, but works fine; good sizing
Trying to help clear up some confusion first: When looking at battery generators / power stations like this one it's best to look at watt-hours (Wh). Without knowing voltages, getting wrapped around the axle about the precise number of amp hours is a waste of time. This Imuto power station is 138.3 watt hours which means you can power a 100 watt device (no matter whether it's 5 volts and 20 amps, or 12 volts and 8 amps) for about an hour. Watt-hours also give you a sound basis for price comparison. These days decent battery generators ("power stations") are selling for about one dollar per watt hour. That's been true throughout 2022. This one's priced at about 93 cents per watt hour which makes it a slight bargain. This power station is definitely well built. You don't want to be dropping it onto concrete from five feet mainly because I doubt the integrity of the batteries would survive that, but it is built to take some bumps and routine knocking about. The 12 volt and 5 volt options, both in and out, reflect the current state of device charging methods (e.g. traditional USB-A 5 volt ports as well as 20 watt and 100 watt USB-C (PD) ports for more rapid charging of devices capable of handling that kind of power. The light is a handy stand-by feature, or maybe for reading a book in your tent. I charged this power station from a 20 watt PD charging port (You have to provide your own charging source). It reported drawing 18 watts while charging. As others have reported, the device arrived with about a 30% charge. It took a very long evening to get it up to 99%. The last 1% took well over an hour despite the device reporting eight minutes remaining. I was starting to be concerned it might not get to 100% when the watts drawn display finally started dropping to zero. It still took another 10 to 15 minutes to finally reach 100% and stop drawing power. I don't think anything is wrong, especially for a first charge. Just expect charging to take quite a while unless you've got a 100 watt charger on hand. I've tested a couple of output ports and they're providing power as expected. The reported power drawn on the station also matches expectations. As for uses: I really like the cube shape of this power station. That allows it to fit in places other power stations won't go. My expected uses are for home backup for keeping devices charged if/when the power goes out, and at remote sites where other power may not be available. This cube easily fits in the center consoles of both of my vehicles (pickup and passenger car), making storage while traveling easy. It also fits in the waterproof storage wells of my kayaks. That's also handy. So far I think Imuto has a winner.

My first impression of this product was that it looks awesome. It has a sleek and refined design. There's a neat little carrying strap. Then, I realized there is no power cable to charge the unit. They included a cable that has two type C ends. What am I supposed to do with that? Why would anyone sell a product without the charging cable? So, I tried using a charging cable I have here. The unit arrived at 30% power. I plugged it in and checked it 7 minutes later. It had dropped to 25% charge. Sadly, I don't see this product being useful in any manner. It's basically unusable.

I like the size and appearance of the imuto 138 .3Wh Portable Power Station. I obtained the basic unit that comes with a wide selection of USB and 12VDC barrel sockets. I did not purchase the A/C adaptor, a separate option. It is a very compact unit. The build quality is excellent. I use this power station to recharge my mirrorless camera on extended trips away from wall outlets and as a power extension to the camera battery when doing long time-lapse photography. The unit is not weatherproof, but it can be wrapped in a Ziplock bag. It does not use a cooling fan and the power drain by my camera does not cause appreciable heating.
A Compact Backup Charger For USB Powered Personal Electronics

The unit does not come with a cigarette lighter type of power socket limiting it's flexibility a little, but is not a problem for me. I found the sales page for this unit on Amazon to be misleading with regard to the A/C inverter accessory. While a careful reading of the text makes it clear that this is an optional accessory available at addition expense, almost every illustration of the unit includes the A/C accessory in place. When you add the price of both items, you are getting close to the price of the less expensive, bottom tier full featured powerpacks (aka: solar generators).
But I believe the small footprint and lower weight of this unit does offer value for camping, extended car trips, and extended power failures for keeping personal electronic devices online. It is too heavy and an awkward shape for inclusion on a hiking trip.
I do find the included "carry case" to be of little utility. It does not make carrying easier, it offers no protective capability and the carry loops tend to get in the way. I would have preferred a case that covers the entire unit with socket, light and meter cut-outs some shock and scratch protection.
If you want a flexible, small, USB battery powered charger and you find the typical powerpacks are overkill, then this unit might provide a nice fit with 138 Wh of power in a very compact package.
Update: I just received this battery power pack's inverter top-hat, also known as the inmuto 14002 AC Inverter. I sits securely on top of the DC only base power pack and provides AC capability through a single three prong AC socket. It does not contain a battery or any USB sockets, but is designed to work with the imuto 138 .3Wh Portable Power Station. It cannot function on its own. It adds just under a pound to the power pack making the combination four pounds in weight, still in a very compact form. Too big for a pocket, but noticeably smaller than other lower range power packs.
Inverters normally waste 15% of the energy passing through them. I ran a 20W 13 inch LCD television with an external USB powered Roku stick for 5 hours and 38 minutes. The power pack expended 113 watt-hours of energy. The battery is rated at 138Wh capacity. Take away 15% for energy waste in the inverter and that should leave a useable 117Wh of energy. So the actual 113Wh expended indicates that the stated battery capacity is almost correct - and better than most other power packs that I have capacity tested, or seen tested on YouTube. The power pack indicated the wattage being provided and indicated the time remaining to empty. It actually ran on zero minutes remaining for five minutes - an accurate, but slightly conservative meter.
So I now have the option of a small cube to charge USB and 12V DC items only or to screw on the inverter top-hat and have AC capability also. There still is no cigarette lighter type socket provided. The 12 is provided by DC barrel sockets.
I liked this unit before. I like it better now.
