So in the past and today gaming headsets do not have any independent sound boost button, they have but it controls the systems sound so when you increase you are just increasing the laptops sound or phone, with these you increase the laptops sound independently from the headset for more boost for gaming the headset doubles the sound by also increasing it on the headset so you get amazing loud surround sound when you need it, no more low sounding gaming headset....steelseries nailed it with this, sound is the best.
