Great KB and nice RGB

Great KB and nice RGB
I had previously owned a Corsair K70 MK.2 MX cherry blue switch keyboard and it was loud and clicky. After a few years and a newborn who sleeps in the room next door, I had to get something quieter (per the wife rules) since the keys could be heard next door. This was the answer as it had quieter keys, sound dampening, and I like the media wheel in the location. Another plus side was the magnetic plush foam write rest. The MK.2 had a soft feel wrist rest that would get uncomfortable. Plus it attached by clips and it was very awkward to remove them because you had to lift the board up which caused the wrist rest to drop. Unless you flipped the board upside down. This KB uses magnetic rubber tabs that slide under and lock in place and I’ve have yet had it slide off or detach itself. My only concern are the keycaps. In my pictures, the key one the left is the MK.2 and as you see, the bottom is more beefier that the RGB Max. I wonder how it will hold up over time and I’m worried it might crack. But only time will tell. Also the keys on the RGB Max has a matte texture feel to them and they are grey on grey in color unlike the MK.2 which are all black with white font. Also the font on the RGB Max are not as bold as the MK.2 KB. It’s a nice difference in my opinion. The extra space bar key is a nice touch as well. It added extra RGB to the KB and gives it a little more of a customized look to it.

Pros:
- Great build quality
- Sound dampening foam
- Great stabilizers (with a little lube)
- Adjustable, magnetic, hall effect switches
- Rapid trigger functionality
- Very nice palm rest
- Double shot PBT keycaps

Cons:
- 1 particular gripe with iCue (not even specific to this keyboard)

Thoughts:
As the title suggests, this is another really good, hall effect keyboard! After using a wooting 60HE, I really don't like regular mechanical switches anymore. Pricing is in-line for full sized keyboards. Actually, a little better than the competition with the inclusion of dedicated media keys, and hall effect switches. The rapid trigger function feels so natural that I unintentionally hold keys longer on traditional switches. It just feels so good when you get used to it. Pair that with an adjustable actuation height, and you've got a tangible improvement over regular keyboards. The addition of case foam really helps with the acoustics. No pinging or hollow sounds when you bottom out a key. These stabilizers are also very good, once I applied some krytox lube to them. They were pretty rattly right out of the box, but a little injection on each stab muted them nicely. They also seem to have dampeners to soften bottoming out the modifier keys. I don't really care about the 8k polling rate personally. I would bet money that no one can actually feel a difference between 1k and 8k in a blind test on any peripheral, but it's there if you really care about that. The PBT keycaps are very good quality with good shine-through. I really like the palm rest that comes with the Corsair flagship keyboards. This thing feels really nice, and I wish they would include one with each of their other keyboards; magnetic attaching and all. The only thing that I would actually knock this for, and it's not even an issue I have with the keyboard, is one particular exclusion from iCue. That exclusion is the ability to remap the FN key to something else. It's not that big of a deal for a full sized keyboard (to me at least), but it would still be nice to remap it to something like Caps lock. Why we still can't do that is beyond me, but this is just more of a personal issue I have. The keyboard itself does everything else that I want.

Conclusion:
If you like or are interested in hall effect keyboards, but don't want to deal with wait times from Wooting, or want a slightly higher quality alternative to Steelseries' offerings, this is a good option.

I recently upgraded to the Corsair K70 MAX mechanical keyboard, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance and design. The keyboard's build quality is outstanding, featuring a durable aluminum frame that gives it a premium feel.

Typing and gaming on this keyboard are an absolute delight. The Cherry MX switches provide a satisfying tactile feedback and a smooth keystroke, making it perfect for both typing and gaming enthusiasts. The keys are responsive and accurate, enhancing my overall productivity and gaming experience.

One of the standout features of the K70 MAX is its customizable RGB lighting. The keyboard offers a wide range of vibrant and customizable lighting effects, allowing me to personalize my setup to match my mood or game theme. The Corsair iCUE software is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to create complex lighting patterns and synchronize them with other Corsair devices.

The K70 MAX's dedicated media keys and volume wheel are incredibly convenient, providing quick and easy access to multimedia functions without interrupting my workflow. The detachable wrist rest adds to the comfort, ensuring that I can type or game for extended periods without discomfort.

Corsair's attention to detail is evident in every aspect of this keyboard, from the premium keycaps to the sturdy USB passthrough port. The keyboard's anti-ghosting and full-key rollover features guarantee accurate input even during intense gaming sessions.

In conclusion, the Corsair K70 MAX is a top-tier mechanical keyboard that offers exceptional performance, durability, and customization options. Whether you're a gamer, programmer, or anyone in need of a high-quality keyboard, the K70 MAX is a superb choice. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking the best in class!

This keyboard was being offered at a pretty good price, and I was looking for something that wasn't black. Corsair's optical linear switches work well, though they're not really hot swappable unlike boards with MX style mechanical switches. Overall, I like the Corsair K70 with pretty much any sort of linear switch - key feel is good, the switches are responsive, and the keyboard includes dedicated media control buttons. The RGB lighting is nice too and iCue gives you plenty of control over that. I did replace my OEM style keycaps with Cherry profile shine-through keycaps - wanted something a little lower profile for maximum gaming responsiveness. Those lower profile keycaps fit fine - no issues.

To me this keyboard is perfect. Gaming is easier on me because I can reach and hit keys. Not just faster. But with smaller hands and the fact I don't have to press the key down far for a reaction is amazing.
Sometimes I have up hit alt and a number above it and use my other hand to perform actions at the same time. I can reach them better now because I don't have to press down as much

And it's adjustable. It's default at half a key stroke but you can change it to .4 to not using any adjustments like a normal mechanical keyboard.

I actually like the wrist rest too. Mine is very soft. Nice cushion and I'm thankful it came with an extra space bar and key because i rub the space bar coating off on all my keyboards over time. Now, since I don't have to press hard it may last longer and I have replacement if it does.
I think the max is worth it.

k70 max magnetic axis keyboard. I opened the package and found the heavy keyboard. The workmanship is indeed much better than the ordinary k70 keyboard. In terms of workmanship, this one is worth it. As for the feel, I think it is average, not good nor bad. I need to adapt to the change of axis. In short, it is worth the money. I like it very much.

I’ve had this keyboard for a little while now and in my opinion it’s just about perfect, I bought the keyboard with the hopes of using the magnetic keys so I could have precise control over throttle and stuff in car games but I didn’t do any research before hand and found out after receiving it that I couldn’t do that. After downloading the ICUE software I customised the colour and actuations to my liking and I think the magnetic keys also have a really smooth feeling to them which I like probably because I’m a little bit autistic. The keys are not silent which isn’t an issue for me as it wasn’t something I cared about but overall this is a great keyboard I won’t be replacing
