I’ve been using these bottles with sterile h2O to dilute Mounjaro to 2.5mg. I’m grateful to be able to obtain these little bottles. I’ve lost 20 lbs but need to get serious again and continue losing. They came in a box and none were broken.
The plastic cover is hard to remove and distorts the rim of the metal cap when pulled off. Also if you use these with short needle insulin syringes, put the needle in the middle of the rubber stopper. The edges are too thick for these short needles.
Also remember that you MUST pull air from the empty vial before you try to add liquids otherwise you will create pressure and your medications will not mix properly or you may lose some because of back pressure.
When adding a milliliter of dilution liquid, I DRAW out a milliliter of air first, then add the liquid. When I add another half milliliter of medication, I first draw out the 0.5ml of air. If you don’t do this, then you may blow the medication out of the drug syringe and waste the medication.
The same applies with drawing out your doses for injection. Put in the same volume of air first with the vial upright, then flip the vial over and draw out your dose. This is basic stuff, but hardly anyone uses vials at home anymore. I thought a refresher might be helpful… after I forgot a few times myself! And I am a medical person.
While this product is helpful for splitting injections that come in pens they are not exactly self sealing. When you inject an insulin needle to withdraw after the initial time, you do see bubbling up and lots of waste. My last injection should've been 12 units, but I was only able to withdraw 8u because of the leakage.
Also, when the plastic cap is popped off you have a jagged metal ring left behind. See picture.
