My original heating element went out not long after I installed the fan unit a few years ago and I bought and installed a replacement, which has been working fine ever since. If I remember correctly, it was about $42 including shipping. I wanted to buy a back-up just in case, but didn't want to spend the money at the time.I recently saw this one at $15 and ordered it to be my back-up (in the side-by-side photo it is the one on the right). I installed it to test it and quickly realized the less messing about with the unit the better, so now the one I took out will be my back-up and the new one will stay in.It was an easy installation, for what it is, except the speed nut (the dark clip that the screw on the opposite side screws into to hold it to the housing - the one on the right in the clips side-by-side photo) was not cut large enough for the screw to go through. You can easily see the difference in the photo. It's essential to hold that end of the element securely to the housing (you can see it in the picture of my holding it with the blue screwdriver handle under it), so I was not happy about that. I ended up using the old one and putting a big note in the box with the back-up saying to be sure to use it if a replacement is needed. I did remove a star for that, as every piece of the product needs to work as it should.Otherwise, it worked well and continues to work days later. It heats instantly and provides consistent heat when I want it. I did have a laugh about the rating for noise level - I gave it five stars there because it is very quiet! The heating element doesn't make the noise; the fan does. ;)All in all, for the price, I am very pleased with this product. I would have been more upset if I didn't have an old speed nut to use instead of the non-functional new one, but all was well in the end.

The heater element is a direct bolt in for the factory element, even the connector matches up. I will buy again! I typically go through 1 element a year because the thermo fuse blows, this is probably due to heat stress from the fan stopping as soon as power is turned off allowing heat to spike in the element before cooling. I think it is a Broan problem not a reflection on the part. Great part and service!

Installing the part was extremely easy. However, the heating element lasted one day (no exaggeration) before burning out. Not sure if part was defective; but buy at your own risk.
