It was introduced in 2019. The small form factor which features 2 built-in charging cords was a brilliant design. It is slim and very portable. Perfect for day trips, hikes, etc, It can easily be stored in a purse, small bag, or even a back pocket. Offering both a Lightning and USB-C cord made it extremely convenient to charge both your Apple and Android devices. And if you’re strictly an Apple-user and buying one of these today, you won’t need to get a different power bank when Apple starts transitioning to USB-C for all its devices in 2024. It can charge most standard phones at least once and, smaller accessories like AirPods many times over.CHARGING SPEEDS (for your devices):Charging speeds were average when the bank was introduced but, it’s slow by today’s standard. Since 2019, both Apple and Android manufacturers have now programmed their devices to allow for faster charging. Since this feature was introduced, most newer power banks have chipsets that offer quick-charging. Typically that’s 2-3 times faster than this power bank.RELIABILITY:Reliability has been very good. The cords have not severed. They conveniently still snap back into their respective storage spots. And, they still attach nicely to my devices. By all accounts, this is a well-designed and well-manufactured product. If you’re having issues with yours, it may just be a quality control issue. Take advantage of Amazon’s generous return window to exchange it for a working one.OTHER:Some power banks have digital displays (100%, 80% etc). I don’t think a power bank this small needs an LCD readout. Because 6000mah is a relatively small bank, there’s not really a need to monitor remaining power levels. LCD displays are cheap enough now that it could be featured. But, if you’re charging your phone with this, it’s kind of a one-and-done thing. You just know you have to recharge the power bank after that.One other note. There are power banks from Anker and UGREEN that hold their charge for 8-12 months at a time when the bank is not in use. Amazingly, sometimes longer. Without use, the charge in this one depletes after 2-3 months. So, if it’s something you use daily/regularly, you won’t have any issues. But, if this is something you’re going keep in a purse or bag for those rare and unexpected times you need it, you need to be sure to fully charge it every few months. Otherwise, it may be empty when actually pulling it for use.Overall, this is a good bank. If anything, it’s just dated. If the company is as forward thinking now as they were back then, they’re hopefully working on a 5-year refresh for this great design. The next iteration should include a bi-directional USB-C cable. This would be a single cable used for charging both, your device and the power bank itself. This would not only eliminate the need to carry an additional cable to charge the bank, it would also allow for much faster Power Delivery for your device. Also, offering magnetic charging would be a plus.I definitely look forward to seeing what this company releases in the future. If you need a small, portable power bank today, this is a good option. Again, this form factor is tough to beat. But, if you’re looking for quick-charging, wireless charging or an updated chipset offering more features, maybe hold off until their next release. For now, because there are other banks which offer better features at similar prices, this only a tentative recommendation for consideration.
