Product description
-
Compatible with what type of battery?
It is compatible with 1*AA alkaline battery and 1*AA rechargeable NiMH battery.

As a small size, ultra-bright flashlight, Saber will produce much heat while working especially at high and turbo modes. We do not recommend keeping the light in turbo mode for more than 10 minutes.

It has two lighting modes: 659 lumens for high mode and 57 lumens for low mode. You can carry it when you walk the dog outside in the dark or reading.

Yes, the two-way clip let you attach the light to the brim of a hat for hands-free use or clip it to pocket or backpack etc.
-
Does it have momentary-on function?
Yes, half-press the tail switch to activate the momentary-on function.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2025Color: Saber Cool WhiteVerified PurchasePowerful Little EDC Flashlight
The ThruNite Saber is an excellent small EDC flashlight. At 600 lumens, it’s surprisingly bright for its size and very practical for everyday carry. I like that it runs on AA rechargeable batteries, making it easy to keep powered up anywhere. The clip is sturdy, and the build quality feels solid. Compact, reliable, and high-performing—great value for an EDC light.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2025*Update* After using them for a couple of weeks I am overall still very happy with the purchase. But the clips kinda suck. I say kinda because they work but they aren't designed great. one of them broke from getting snapped on a bag of mulch I was handling. And the clip has almost no traction when clipped to my pants pocket. If the outside of the slip gets caught while driving or something, The flashlight starts to work its way up and out of the pocket. Luckily I've only lost it in my car so far. It's a fairly cheap light but I would hate to lose it. You replace enough of these things and it becomes an expensive light. A solution would be to take the bottom end of the clip that contacts you pants and file some rough texture lines into it. I emailed the company and they sent me a couple of replacement clips under the warranty, took a couple of weeks but i didn't have to do anything but write an email and wait. Very easy to deal with.

Just got them. Haven't put them through the paces yet but I am impressed! Lit up my whole back yard in pitch black. Nice and wide, pretty much all a big even hotspot with soft edges.
I knew going into it that they only have a high and a low. For the price of $10 each if you get the two pack, I can live with it. They are really well made and perform great. But it's a huge mistake not programming an ultra low mode into them. They come with a really nicely written and thorough instruction pamphlet. To me that is only a little relevant but it certainly demonstrates a company's attention to details in general and care for their product.
They were bright out of the box. But after playing with them for a few minutes, I decided to see how charged they are. They each took about 2 hours with regular cell phone chargers. So that leads me to think one of two things: Either they weren't that charged out the box but still performed excellent, or they just charge slowly whatever the amount of charge they have left. Not sure. Specs say they take 2-6 hours to recharge whatever that means.
Tried them with regular new Duracell AA's and they still worked great but less bright than the included lithium. Still quite useable and great to have that option.
Some nitpicks, none of them deal breakers for me personally:
-The clip is nice but could be a little better designed. A bit more "deep carry" geometry and angled more at the lip that slip over your pocket.
-The button is great; metal or metal feeling and heavy with a long press, but its smooth. I would prefer some knurling/texture.
-I knew going into it that they only have a high and a low. For the price of $10 each if you get the two pack, I can live with it. They are really well made and perform great. But it's a huge mistake not programming an ultra low mode into them.
So overall I am stoked and will come back and update this review if my first impressions don't match up with regular use. I bought them based on price and great reviews from youtubers so I am not super worried about it. One will be my EDC and one will be my backup that lives in my vehicle.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2025Color: Saber Cool WhiteVerified PurchaseI've carried this in my 5th pocket and have used it at least once a day-- every single day -- for a year.
Its small but bright and highly dependable. cheap and highly usable.
Very happy with it and it's developed a nice worn patina.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2024Color: Grey Cool WhiteVerified PurchaseOverall, I was thoroughly impressed with the light. It's not as light of a gray as I was anticipating, the pictures make it look like it has a dull silvery color, but it's a rather dark gray, but that's not a world ending deal. I like to color coordinate my EDC, and the darker gray just throws that off a bit.
The output with the included 14500 cell is impressive, though. 659 lumens is more than enough in most situations, and the beam pattern, while open and having plenty enough flood, has enough of a hotspot to throw out about 150 yards reliably. Past 200 yards it's enough to make out shapes, but not detail. The throw stops being tremendously useful once you get past 250, being just enough to give you a rough idea of what you're looking at, but it does still make enough light to be noticeable with the naked eye out to about 275. For a rather small, lightweight light, that's way more than expected.
It gets hot fast, though, which is just the cost of that kind of output in such a small light. The output steps down after 30 seconds to keep it from getting too hot, and even after about 15 seconds it gets notably warm.
Output with a conventional AA is less than with the 14500, but still plenty in an emergency. Take care of the battery and maybe even find a spare and you'll probably never need to use a AA, but the option is nice. Makes it a nice option to keep in a backpack for emergencies with a spare AA or two. The size and weight makes carrying a spare in a bag easy to the point of being negligible.
The pocket clip leaves a lot hanging out of your pocket, enough to ding it on doorframes if you're clumsy. I'd rather it sit deeper in my pocket, but small lights that sit too deep can be a nuisance to grab, so that point matters only to nitpickers like me. Thrunite's pocket clips do tend to be on the fragile side, so the slimmer profile and rounded tip (thank you for making it two-way!) makes it snag much less than conventional clips.
All that praise does come with one weird flaw - either the lens itself isn't installed entirely correctly or the protective layer on top of it wasn't glued on right, possibly a combination of both. The beam on mine has a lopsided hotspot as a result. It's hard to notice without rolling it in my fingers as it's running, but the hotspot does have a blurry teardrop shape as a result. It doesn't stop the light from being useable, but it's a weird flaw that could be an indicator of poor QC in general.
For those of you who have never owned a Thrunite product before, this is an issue also because Thrunite's warranty is effectively nonexistent as I've never had any luck with their customer service and it seems no one else has either. The low cost makes it a little less of an issue, but if you're buying one of their more expensive lights that might be a problem for you. I can't speak to it's durability yet as I've only owned it a week or so, and my last Thrunite (the Archer 2AA, which I would highly advise you avoid) wasn't up to my standards, but my buddy's TN12 Pro has held up to the significant abuse he's put it through, so there is a bit of trepidation there.
For the weirdo flashlight aficionados like me, I think you'll find this light a good addition to your repertoire, it's a surprisingly powerful little light. For those just looking for a flashlight, this is also a good option as it's cheap and uses widely available batteries should you lose the rechargeable battery.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2024Color: Saber Cool WhiteVerified PurchaseThere are many positive features to this flashlight. It is considered an EDC flashlight, meaning every day carry, translating to: this is something you can have with you everyday all the time, and it will be available when you need it. Another great feature of this flashlight is the dual power source availability. It comes with a rechargeable AA battery and it can also use a standard AA battery. So you always have power options for this flashlight. It also has a removable clip that can be attached to your belt pocket or the brim of your hat or other place where you might want to attach this light to. Something else I would like to say is this is a great value for this product. And it is really bright for its size. It is very lightweight. I highly recommend this and I have now purchased two of these. And I am considering additional purchases for gifts.

Online Shopper TP ++Reviewed in Canada on January 20, 20255.0 out of 5 stars Nice Small , high quality single AA powered LED Thrunite Saber lights
These Thrunite Saber lights were a good price for 2 LED flashlights.
The included USB C rechargeable AA size 3.7 volt 14500 cell makes it very bright on the HIGH setting.
Rated run times with 3.7 volt lithium cell are 19 Hours on LOW (57 lumens), 100+ Minutes on HIGH (659-275 lumens). Good instruction/specs sheet included.
Any AA size cell works, Nimh or Alkaline which is great.
Good quality firm switch, has 2 modes, click ON to LOW setting, click OFF and back ON to HIGH setting.

Color: Saber Neutral WhiteVerified PurchaseThe Saber is very bright with the rechargeable battery it comes with. Initially I was skeptical as to how bright it would be with just a normal AA battery. The Saber is remarkable how bright it is with a normal everyday AA. I love the fact that it takes AA as an option.
Feels sturdy and well built. Great responsive click with the tail switch.
It is my new favourite edc flash light.
