      Somehow I never acquired a HV probe, despite fixing a lot of TVs and working with other electronics for more than 50 years. I needed one, so I selected this one based upon price and reviews, and it works fine.

      I noticed that the measured voltages through this probe are about 5% lower than the actual voltage inputs, but that's not too bad considering that the accuracy of the probe depends upon the precision of the 10M ohm input impedance of the voltmeter being used. (It essentially creates a voltage divider resistor network, using your voltmeter as one of the two resistors. Not all voltmeters have a well-calibrated input impedance.)

      The only drawback I observed is the inability to measure high differential voltages. All measured voltages must be referenced to "ground", as defined by wherever the probe's ground lead (black wire) is connected. (The probe tip has safe hi-pot insulation, but the probe's ground wire is just connected to the negative voltmeter input. Thus it would be unsafe to attempt measuring differential high voltages that exceed the isolation limit of your voltmeter -- usually about 600V.)
