Something that wasn't clear in the description is the included cable is USB C to USB A - the keyboard itself has a UBC C connection so I was able to use my own cable.
Will definitely buy this thing again if it every breaks or wears out.

I have been waiting for its release for months, and I'm not disappointed in any way. The board is heavy and feels premium. It has customizable RGB and custom macros through cherry software. No issues and very, very happy overall.

Full sized mechanical keyboard with thick metal backplateThis white mechanical full size keyboard is the MX3.1 from Cherry XTRFY and was priced at $120 when ordered. The two things I noticed first is that this keyboard is wired and the base plate is solid metal. The board is heavy and has zero flex. The design of the base plate is very modern, simple, (maybe industrial) and different from any other board I have sampled. The end caps are very plastic by comparison, with a futuristic performance look that doesn't quite match the rest of the unit. The top of the board has basically been omitted from this design with only a few spacers along the function keys and the area above the arrows present. This is another different and simplistic design choice on this keyboard. Making the ends caps metal would have gone a long way, but other than that, this is a good looking keyboard.

The keys are very light weight and have a bright white color. They are smooth topped caps with little to no texture. These caps are double shot with a shine through legend. The low weight of the key caps combined with the new MX2A red switches give a fast and quiet typing experience. The travel on these linear switches felt fairly standard. Dual stabilizers which sit on a metal U bar are included for; both shifts, enter, backspace, +, and the space bar. The actuation feel and sound varies for them all. The shift keys and number pad enter are the most heavily damped versus the others, with the quietest sound and highest actuation pressure. The majority of the keys sound and feel similar with a muted click and light touch. The 4 arrow keys feel heavier than the others on the board for some reason. The sound overall is relatively quiet with the exception of the space bar, it’s the loudest key with a bit of a hollow clack.
The Function + F9 key is mapped to open the search bar, enter command prompt, then open the cherry software if it is on the PC, or download it from the Chinese Cherry website if it's not. The website had a microsoft security certificate and the software had a certificate as well. Once downloaded the software functions as desired. Macros could be programmed, keys could be remapped, and lighting profiles could be adjusted. The software was simple and intuitive to use. The rest of the function keys are dedicated to lighting control and hot keys to open the internet and my PC. If you don't need to remap keys or program macros, the keyboard works fine without the software and full lighting can be managed with the function keys.
The RGB lighting looks great on this board. The keycaps with shine through legend look good and are an upgrade over caps with printed legends. Light shines from between the caps as well as through the legends. Separate lighting control is available for the end caps of the case in addition to the keys. The addressable LEDs have good blending and are claimed to cover the full 16.8 million color range. The included patterns are pretty basic with a few which cycle and some that are reactive. Custom addressing of colors worked as expected.
The included 6’ USB type A to C cable has soft but tight white wrapping and is good quality. As this is a wired keyboard it must be used to connect the keyboard to the PC.
Metal cased keyboards are always expensive, so the price point of this board seems fairly reasonable given the features and high quality materials used in it's construction. The longevity claims on this board are also very high, while the swappable switches means the board can be easily serviced. The included warranty is also from a reputable brand, so you can likely file a claim if issues arise.
This is a nice keyboard for the right person. The metal back plate and style of the keyboard are different from other boards and would look great in white and bare metal builds. This is very much a style choice, as the overall function is on par with other high end wired mechanical keyboards.
