I ordered these for an "off label" use - a water supply for my house plant watering system! My previous container did not have a lid or seal tightly and I always worried about the cats knocking it over while I am out of town. Drilling a hole and epoxying around the water tube solves that fear.

The decorative glass also adds a little bit of design for my use, which is much nicer than a standard mason jar

This size of mason jar is ideal for use with an immersion blender, or for storing a large amount of a home-made beverage, like an iced-tea. This set feels high quality and the lids seal well. The bubbling on the outside may stylistically not be to everyone's taste, but it does aid in gripping the jars so they don't slip while in use.

The bubbling does obscure the contents a bit, so if your goal is to use these to visibly display their contents in an aesthetic way you may be better off with a plain clear jar.
