I can't believe this $8 microphone works as well as it does. I place it on top of a tissue box so it's level with my mouth. I like that it's a one directional microphone, so surrounding noises do not pick up as easily. Plug n Play for Mac

I got this because my Mac mini doesn’t have a built-in mic. It's definitely plug and play at least for Mac and works great. I've been using it to control SIRI on macOS Sierra and it picks up my voice very well. I wish the base was a bit more weighted but it stands up fine. Comes up in System Preferences>Sound>Input as "USB PnP Sound Device."

That said after a simple test the amount of plossive reduction doesn't match that of [[ASIN:B00SXHJXCI The Hook Studios Mini Strap Pop Filter (Black)]]. As others also pointed out it's clearly because even with two layers, the mesh on the Mudder's filters is too widely spaced and therefore lets too much wind through. So if you use a cheaper condenser microphone which requires you to get up close because you can't push the gain too much, I can't recommend getting this.

As others have pointed out, this is a well designed pop filter. It's somewhat infuriating to use on smaller devises like the Apogee MiC because the hook for the elastic bands are either not designed to be used for small microphones or just poorly designed so the bands are very likely to pop out unless you're very careful and you hold the hooks.By Olivier Lacan on September 25, 2016
