On the practical side, the gift itself was well worth the money, it arrived fast and was well made (IMHO), the pages themselves were organized in a very functional manner, and the “calendar” part was generic where the user can start the calendar at any time, so it will never be out of date. That way you can buy it now, and give it as a gift for Christmas, a birthday or just for fun. After the monthly calendar portion, there was a weekly portion and then a general note section as for daily notes / meetings. Over all as a “day planner” it is a winner. And with the Harry Potter theme, it will be the best gift of the party.
I will definitely purchase this item again for my next free elf candidate.
My first complaint is that the printed yearly calender for 2017 in the front is a Sunday to Saturday calender, while the grid monthly calendars are Monday to Sunday. This leads you to believe that the yearly calendar starts with January 1st, 2017 to start on a Monday. It does not; it starts on a Sunday. Because you have you have to write in all dates yourself, this means that I wrote out my entire monthly and weekly calendars for 2017 one day off. I didn't realize this until I had all birthdays, anniversaries, and other yearly dates written in. I've lost several hours of work and have to buy a new calendar. So, beware.
Also, there are not enough weekly calendars to cover the entire year. In fact, it doesn't even cover December. I had to draw in six weeks of my own weekly calendars in the notes section just to cover what should have already been there. Since I have to buy a new calendar anyway, I'm not sure I'll go with this one. We'll see.
