EMaketing Experience is a must read for beginners, and for those who are lightly experienced in the personal use of social networking platforms and wondering how to make use of various social networks for business. The more experienced social marketer as well as e-marketing professional are likely to glimpse from this book a new perspective and fresh applications inspired by the author's examples.
As an experienced e-marketing professional, I was excited to learn from EMarketing Experience a few powerful points on those social networks I use infrequently. Further, Nathan's pointers and examples fed my creativity such that I now have a solution to an earlier challenge.
A Practical handbook you can refer on a regular basis. Filled with information, tips, tools and challenges to better your experience with Social Networking.
Each Social Network is discussed in detail, taking you through the steps to enjoy your journey on the world wide web. The pro's and cons are listed in easy understandable terms. Coming straight to the point as the author teach you about each.
Do you want to learn more about Social Networking? Then this is a book I will recommend, from a novas to the more educated person can benefit. You learn step by step how to market yourself and profit from the experience. How to create a Facebook page or a blog and everything in between.
The author can not stress it enough, Connect. Share. Listen. Show up. And be yourself.
As someone who is proficient with the web and social media, I didn't learn anything earth shattering or new. I was hoping for some inside tips that would take my marketing to the next level.
The author is organized and explains things in terms the normal person can understand. He also mentions free video tutorials available on his website. I found these are also on YouTube, and are helpful for the visual person who wants to see the instruction. For example, he does an analysis of a Linked In profile that helps someone see what a good profile includes. I like that the book includes some graphics and illustrations to add interest.
So, why didn't I rank the book higher? At only 100 pages, the author could have doubled the size and made it applicable to the more advanced marketer. The formatting of the book doesn't really follow most publishing standards. The business format without indented paragraphs is tolerable, but some sections where text is centered looks a bit more like it's self-published. (Not sure if this is fixed in the print version?)
Note: I received a free eBook from the author in exchange for my objective review.
I'd recommend this book for people looking to get ahead of the average marketer. Read it and learn from it and I would think it will help you greatly.
