    This Studio portrait umbrella Kit is easy to use and setup. These lights work great with digital cameras. It is ideal for all level photographers. It is a complete lighting kit with backdrop supporting stand, one 6' x 9' black muslin backdrop, one 6' x 9' white muslin backdrop. These high-output daylight balanced compact fluorescent bulbs are ideally suited for digital photography. These muslin backdrops are 100% cotton and seamless made from one piece of material.

    I am an amateur photographer and this set is perfect for me to learn lighting techniques. Everything was packed securely. I agree with others that the backdrops are a little thin and small, but I knew that when I purchased it. The bag that I received fits everything so it truly is a traveling studio. The directions are a not as detailed as I would have liked, but with a little intuition, you can figure it out. I cannot compare this to more high end equipment, I can only say that I'm excited to start learning more about lighting techniques with this product.

    For the price, I pretty much got what I expected. The backgrounds are really thin though. You can't have any light behind them. There was even a framed picture on the wall behind the black one and I had to take it down because I could see the white background in the picture. That was really disappointing. But it's easy to put up and take down and easy to transport. All items fit inside of the carrying bag. Not bad for the price. It would definitely be 5 stars if the backdrops were thicker. I'm going to have to replace them at some point soon.

    Got this for my wedding photobooth and was happy with it. Good value for the money, especially the sturdy stands. The lights are good, but not terribly bright - I used my speedlight on a separate tripod (Nikon's wireless flash system worked great) as well as the on-camera flash with a diffuser to get enough light. The backdrops are smaller than the stands and just about big enough for 4 people standing very closely right in front of it, though not big enough for a photo booth - I had to photoshop the majority of the pictures...

    The bag is fine, but only holds the stands for the backdrop, not the lights and lightstands, which is quite misleading!! The backdrops themselves are very thin, so light behind them will shine through (also daylight!) - which is fine if you are up against a wall but not if you're in front of a window. The umbrellas are fine - simple light umbrellas you fix into the stands with a moderately sturdy screw. The screw thread on the stands is plastic, so not sure how long it will last, but for now it worked well.

    The seller was very quick and the packaging seemed to protect the contents well. Overall it came in handy and seemed the best value for money at this pricepoint, so a recommendation from my side.

    I received my K103 Lighting Kit is quick order, however, the connecting tubes used to support the fabric screens between the 2 tripods were missing. No response to my email and No one answers the phone and you cannot leave a voice mail. This K103 studio is useless without the cross members. Very irritating. I need to use this studio now. Right now it seems as if I will never get the connecting tubes.
    It gets worse. I finally contacted ePhoto. They would not send me the part. They said I needed to contact Amazon and return the whole thing, just to get that one essential part. What a hassle. By now my need for it is gone.

    When I purchased this I had never used a light kit. This kit was perfect for me to start with. It let play around and learn how to set up the lights. The bulbs are not as bright as I would like. That's the only really down fall I found. The back drops are thin but any real back drop cost more than this kit so for what you pay you get a great deal

    I was so excited to get my backdrops and lighting in to start using it.

    Backdrops: Pros: Fairly big

    Cons: Thin and wrinkly

    Lights: I really don't have any complaints about this, except that the stands for the lights seem a little light which means you just need to be extra careful around children.

    Backdrop holder: I really don't like the backdrop holder. The bars did not fit together correctly, so now they won't fit into my bag. I will probably have to spray some WD-40 on it to get them apart. They really didn't fit together in the first place and I shouldn't have even bothered but I was so anxious to try it out, I had to. It also seems a little light and unsturdy as well, so you will need to be careful.

    Ease of use: This was fairly easy to put together and to take down (with the exception of the bars for the backdrop). Everything fits into the bag and is not heavy to carry. You also would be able to fit another backdrop or two in the bag if they were the same size as the others that come with this kit.

    It's been about a year that I bought these. It has been very handy in it's protability and fast set up and tear down. The joints for the back drop are made of cheap plastic and one of the adjusters broke when I was setting it up after the fourth time. Thankfully, I don't use the full height of the stand, otherwise I would have to tape it to hold up. Lamps are good and have been working as expected. The light itself needs to be higher wattage the 45 they come with, it's very low light. I do like that it is white light and not yellow. The fabric works well for most situations, if placed in front of window to block light it will still come through. If you are removing the background, pictures come out really nice. I recommend it if it is your first learning set up. Definitely upgrade to the higher quality ones.
