Pros:
I was impressed when I opened these up (I ordered 2 of them). They arrived fully assembled and they're build like tanks, including the barn doors. They feel very solid and put out a lot of light. The filters were already installed and had protective adhesive paper on them. The filters also have magnetic corners to keep them in place.
The power supply has pretty long cables, which is handy. There is a jack in the back of the unit for some sort of dimming remote control, but it's not included. The only dimmer control is the knob on the back.
I immediately pulled them out, jammed them onto light stands and put power to them. They're ready to go when you receive them.
Cons:
There is a high pitched whine when the dimmer is set to something other than very high output. I don't consider it a major issue. According to the spectrum analyzer app on my phone, the whine is around 5kHz. So, if you pick it up while filming, a simple notch filter will kill it. (It really isn't very loud.)
Also, with the thick, plastic filter installed, it limits the movement of the barn doors. If that annoys you too much, it would be simple to add to the existing spacers (seen at each corner) to remedy this by moving the barn doors out just a little further.
Summary:
Overall, I think they're great for the price and I'll probably buy a couple more. I definitely recommend them.
