In the case of the drain pipe, just taping the camera to the fish tape didn't work well so I cut a pop bottle and mounted the camera in the center (see picture posted) and pushed it into the pipe. The lights in the camera are sufficient and the image on the laptop screen is sharp enough.
It is a USB camera so you need your own viewing device. The cable doesn't support the camera. The one I have has been under water and worked fine, though I will follow another reviewers suggestion and apply silicone sealant front and back.
Video is rather clear.
Second, the cord is too soft to push far down the sewer line. I can only push about 6 ft. Maybe I should better to make it straight before push in or tie it to a snake and use the snake to push it down the line.
It need to have a stronger cord to perform well in sewer line. Maybe it could be used on inspecting other stuff in your house.
I bought it about night dollars, so I don't expect it to work really well, just curious about the condition of my sewer line. I know what I am going to expected.
If your drain is in really bad condition and need to identify the problem, you better hire plumbing company. Don't expect a night dollar camera would be as good as their camera which costs couple hundreds.
Tie the head with my snake, it can reach out about 20 ft down to my sewer line. Cannot see very far but at least it works. The video consumes tons of hard disk space.
