If someone wanted to read a 264 page summary of the gamut of Fuller's ideas, I would hand them this book rather than Spaceship Earth, Critical Path or Synergetics. This book was published after his death, and seems to be his best effort at simplifying the concepts scattered throughout his other books, including his synergetic geometry. He attempts to avoid repetition and his own jargon in the beginning of the book, but both gradually creeps in more and more. This book would be hard for a new Bucky reader, but since it's such a good summary I would still recommend it to them. To put my own Bucky reading level in perspective, I have read the first two books mentioned and through the 400s section in Synergetics. I have also watched about 30% of Everything I Know (the 40 hour or so spontaneous speaking sessions he did in the 70s). I have also read a Fuller Explanation by Amy Edmondson, which also helped my understanding immensely. Unfortunately, like most of Bucky's books, this one is also out of print. I hope either the heirs, the publishers, or the Buckminster Fuller Institute plan on republishing soon, or his ideas will slip further into obscurity.
