The authors, Candace Fleming and Barbara von Halle, come across in this very readable text as fully arrived professionals who approach complicated problems from a solid theoretical foundation. Contained between the covers of this excellent book is actually a full blown methodology for the intrinsically related disciplines of logical data modeling and relational database design. Yes, it is true that the computing industry moves fast, in terms of technological innovation. However, the essential truths recorded by Fleming and von Halle in this book have stood well the test of time.
Those involved in the profession at virtually any level of experience, from novice to expert, can profit from reading and absorbing this excellent text. It is truly an emerging classic in the field.
